Esmeralda View Resort

The best that we stayed in during our travels, this hotel combines Thai rustic charm with beautiful accommodation with stunning views. The lovely lady that runs this hotel simply adds to the wonderful experience; she is wonderfully and naturally funny and has a warm heart and a beautiful smile. Stunning views from the restaurant and we loved the cats; one even sat on our laps in the evening. Food was delicious and the lovely chef came out every evening to say hello. There is a beach, but not easily swimmable! We tried but sank in the mud and broke our flip flops in the process! The rooms are beautiful, very spacious and immaculate. Prior to this hotel we stayed at Koh Yao Yai village, which we found a bit too commercial. Moving to this hotel we were delighted to rediscover a natural charm, and a very friendly atmosphere. Stayed 10 nights in two bungalows (C3 has the best views; B4 is the largest with a spa bathtub). Both were spacious with large balconies. Beds were firm but comfortable. Air-conditioning worked very well (note: some bungalows are fan-only). Wifi available in reception area only (not an issue if you have Thai sim cards). Property is beautifully landscaped with each bungalow feeling very private. Views are stunning, especially from the main reception/dining area. Breakfast buffet was varied and I loved all the sticky rice treats! We ate several of our dinners at the resort and they were all very tasty, especially the papaya/mango salads, the fish, and the curries - thanks to Nono, the chef. Location is secluded - your own transport is recommended. Scooters rentals as well as island excursions and transfers can be easily arranged on site. Resort has its own transport so we relied on this as a taxi service to take us to other parts of the island. Each bungalow has a book with a running tab payable at checkout; card payments are accepted. Most importantly the staff were so kind and friendly. Special thanks to Pond, who has a heart of gold, addressing every issue and request of ours, and treating us more like longtime friends than paying guests.

Un angolo di paradiso in mezzo alla natura con una vista incredibile sul mare e le isole limitrofe. Bungalow di legno curato e accogliente, personale estremamente gentile e sempre sorridente. Cibo ottimo. Consigliatissimo per qualche giorno di puro relax!

Accueil adorable, personnel souriant. Petit déjeuner copieux, frais, varié et délicieux. Les repas sont chers. Nos bungalows vue mer, sympa. Propreté correct, bonne literie mais oreillers durs pour moi. 1re nuit une partie du plafond s'est décollé dans un beau fracas. On nous a changé de chambre, donc tout remballer, redéballer et transporter... Bungalow plus grand "VIP" immense salle de bain avec douche et baignoire (pas vraiment besoin). 4 cintres et pas d'étagères où ranger les vêtements. Et là... La clim fuyait a grande eau, jour et nuit. On devait se charger de mettre des serviettes pour absorber l'eau au risque de glisser sur le carrelage.. Pendant tout notre séjour... Pas cool. On aurait pu, peut être encore changer de chambre !! Aucune réduction de prix n'a été proposée pour les désagréments... Ne pas se fier au mot "resort", qui n'a aucun intérêt ici. Le coin est chouette, calme. Pas de wifi dans les chambres. Nous avions loué un scoot pour explorer l'île et trouver des plages plus sympas. L'eau n'est pas très transparente dans l'ensemble

Wir hatten für 5 Nächte reserviert, unseren vorgebuchten Bungalow konnten wir für eine Aufzahlung in die Deluxe Version mit seaview upgraden.Die Aussicht ist jeden Aufpreis wert, vom Bett und sogar vom Badezimmer aus sieht man aufs Meer und auf der Terrasse stehen bequeme Liegen. Die Bungalows sind am Hang, ringsum nur Naturgeräusche. Wir waren die erste Nacht die einzigen Gäste und hatten an das Frühstück keine Erwartungen. Doch es war ein ganzes Buffet für uns aufgebaut. Mit diversen Marmeladen, Honig (aus dem eigenen Garten) Nutella, Obst (ebenfalls aus dem Garten), frischer Saft, thailändische Süßigkeiten, Müsli, Eierspeise nach Wahl. Spätestens da haben wir beschlossen, um 3 Nächte zu verlängern. Eine gute Entscheidung. Der Strand direkt unterhalb der kleinen Anlage ist kein Traumstrand, bei Ebbe kann man gut spazieren gehen und die vielen kleinen Krebse beobachten, die sich blitzschnell in den Sand eingraben. Wir haben mit Mr. No No (Koch, Fahrer, Mann für alles) einen Ausflug zu den schönen Stränden unternommen. Und uns jeden Abend auf das von Ihm frisch zubereitete Abendessen gefreut. Pond, zu Recht auch Boss genannt ist die hilfsbereite und überaus freundliche und witzige Dame an der Rezeption, die bei allen Belangen weiterhilft. Wir haben die Tage im Esmeralda View Resort genossen und uns sehr wohlgefühlt und erholt.
