The family-run inn & hotel is located in the center of Böhming in the Altmühltal nature park, with an unobstructed view of the Altmühl and the rocky Jura slopes. The Altmühl cycle path and Altmühl panorama path lead right past the house. The comfort rooms were newly renovated in 2022 - with a balcony or terrace. In all rooms and in the covered beer garden, guests are treated to Bavarian, regional cuisine. It was one of my great holiday to spend few nights with this amazing hotel. Their services make me satisfied, very clean & friendly staff. Their clean restaurant service excellent foods. I am very happy to get to try so many of their specialty menu. I like their dessert so much.

I have only given one star because the hotel was clean. But otherwise the whole experience (3 nights) was awful. Despite complaints of no wifi in my room over and over, I was treated with rude responses and basically not caring about fixing it. The second day I was completely ignored. So it was never fixed. I would not recommend this hotel purely because the staff and the Manager were extremely unwelcoming and unhelpful. Nothing is written in English and no offer to translate is offered. Finally, the car park was taken over for an event, but no warning was given and we were told to park on the street. Just terrible "customer service". I have travelled the world and stayed in many, many hotels and never been treated so poorly!

Ich war rundum zufrieden mit der Übernachtung im Römercastell. Das Hotel liegt fast direkt am Altmühlradweg. Es gibt einen abschließbaren Fahrradabstellraum mit Lademöglichkeit für E-Bikes. Das Einzelzimmer (zum Biergarten hin) hatte alles was ich brauchte. Da es abends schon etwas frisch wurde, war der Betrieb des Biergartens relativ schnell beendet, daher war es auch sehr ruhig. Die Zimmer waren gut eingerichtet. Das Hotel wurde offenbar mal renoviert. Das Frühstück war umfangreich und sehr gut. Das Abendessen, das ich im Biergarten eingenommen habe, war auch lecker und günstig vom Preis her. Insgesamt kann man das Hotel für einen Zwischenstopp auf dem Radweg vom Preis-Leistungsverhältnis her ohne Abstriche weiterempfehlen.

Wir sind auf unser Altmühltalradtour eine Nacht im Römer-Castell geblieben. Ich war sehr überrascht das die Gästezimmer ganz neu waren. Wir hatten eines mit Ausblick in das Tal, besonders morgens sehr schön . Wir wurden freundlich empfangen und konnten unsere Räder in der geräumigen Fahrradgarage abstellen. Das Essen auf der Terrasse war für uns alles sehr gut und, was heute eher selten ist, auch preiswert. Frühstück war dem Zimmerpreis angemessen. Bei Gelegenheit werden wir gerne wiederkommen.

🌦️🍽️ Ein schöner Besuch im Römer Castell Heut san ma ins Römer Castell eingekehrt. Wir hatten vorher a Tischl reserviert. Trotz dem Regen draußen war’s drinnen recht gemütlich. Bestellt ham ma an Pfifferlings-Omelett und a g’scheids Rindersteak mit Käsespätzle – und i muss sagn: saugut! Fleisch auf den Punkt, Spätzle käsig und gschmackig, wie ma’s mog. Der Service war herzlich und flink – des hebt glei die Stimmung, aa wenn’s Wetter ned mitspielt. Und ned zu vergessen: Da Aperol Spritz is da Wahnsinn! Sowas guads hab i lang nimma ghabt. Mia kemman gern wieder. Danke ans Team!
