Picnic Rock Seaside Accommodation

The apartments from Picnic Rock are very nice with splendid views. Too bad, new apartments are build very close

Incredible view, great amenities, friendly staff that are available for queries 24/7. The house is clean and comfortable with little thoughtful touches that make your stay even more memorable. Barely anything to complain about EXCEPT the building works in the surrounding area that really takes away from the experience.

We enjoyed every moment of our stay at Picnic Rock (Due South unit). The accommodation is top notch. Due South is ideally suited for a romantic break away or for a couple who just want to enjoy life on the slow lane. To sit on that patio with the sea meters away, is my definition of paradise. The location can't be beaten any place on earth. We will be back!

Picnic Rock is definitely the place to stay in Keurboomstrand. It is by far the best place we visited on any seaside holiday. Views to die for, dolphins visiting almost every day, beautiful, well equipped and spacious apartment, friendly hosts and staff, you name it ! Falling asleep and waking up to the sound of crushing waves right on your doorstep, food for the soul ! Highly recommended !!

EXCELLENT located on the beach front , has all you need including dstv and WI - FI , next door to enrico restaurant , x2 bedrooms sleeps x4 we are a family of x3 , open plan great views waking up with the roar of the sea , just bring your own food and drinks as its situated in keurboomstrand just outside of plettenberg bay

Picnic Rock is certainly located above the beach, just above the beach. The balcony and the unit itself could not be better placed for anyone who wants to see and the hear the sea, watch whales and dolphins and who likes beach walking. We spent a lot of time on the balcony and rightly so. We saw loads of whales, dolphins surfing the waves and plenty of massive waves pounding in from the sea. The unit itself was big with plenty of room for four people (we stayed in NorEast). It was clean, has a nice little kitchen and had pretty much everything we needed. It was a 15-minute drive into Plettenberg Bay, 30 minutes to the Knysna Elephant Park (the elephant walk experience was epic) and 45-minute drive to Tsitsikama National Park. Overall it was a nice place to stay, and it is right on the beach (Although a massive storm when we were there has changed to look and geography of the beach a bit). This would not be an honest review without a mention of the current building work. To be fair to the owner they did tell us there would be building work although they did suggest the noisy bit might well be done). Unfortunately this was not quite the case and over our five days (in mid-September 2023) there they were driving piles, mixing concrete, having cement mixer deliveries, driving dumper trucks and generally there was the noise of a busy building site. Next door to the unit was, to be honest, a building site. It did have an impact on us and to avoid it we spent as much time as possible elsewhere. You may want to check on the progress of the works.
