The main reason me and my family went to this hotel was because of the pictures. Luxurious spacious room, amazing breakfast, stunning views, modern kitchen ect ect. Well, upon arriving to this hotel (which didn't even have a reception desk), we noticed that something was very fishy. The owner was all smiles at first, greeting us with open arms and having conversations. But, while we were fooled by her generosity, she took that chance to slowly push on the idea that we should cancel our booking and pay the hotel directly, promising us that there will be a discount. Well as it turns out, agreeing to that was our first mistake. First of all, the room was tiny for 3 people, the beds were nearly touching, the bathroom was so small that the door couldn't open fully, there was no "kitchen" like they showed in the pictures, just a single counter with a hot plate, and the air conditioner was old and worked poorly. And when it comes to the breakfast, it was nothing like the pictures. They couldn't even make fried eggs properly! There was a big lack of waiters (it was just the owner's 2 daughters serving us). Also, they could barely remember a single order, and whatever food you don't eat goes to the next person, causing a hygiene issue as well. Also, the room itself was quite dirty and dusty, the cleaner didn't do a great job cleaning the spider webs that were on almost every corner of the room. (But I won't blame the cleaner too much, as the poor woman had to clean the whole hotel BY HERSELF!) The only staff in the hotel was the 2 daughters I mentioned earlier (which are both underage teenagers working for 3 hours nonstop), and that one cleaner. (And at one point, the daughter that was serving the food switched places with the cleaner, and she left the key outside the door, which is a serious security issue!) And there was no discount like the owner promised, she charged us almost 300 Euros a night, which is ridiculous for what you're getting! (However we negotiated with the owner and then she lowered it to 214 Euros, which is still very expensive) However, the reason I'm giving this hotel a 2 star review and not a one star review is for a number of reasons. For one, there was the location, which was the closest hotel to the beach, and the room did have a seaview which is good. Also, despite how unprofessional some areas of the hotel were, the owner and staff were actually quite generous, giving us fresh pastries and talking to us and introducing us to Kefalonia (as it was our first time there). I think this hotel has potential if they hire a reasonable amount of staff, charge a lower price, and don't show fake pictures of the hotel and the food, then this hotel would be far more honest and there wouldn't be as many problems. Thank you for reading (my extra long novel of a review)
