On arrival, all seemed pleasant , lovely interior and a refreshing soft drink handed to us. The receptionists appeared welcoming initially, and walked us to a room on the ground floor. First thoughts when we entered the room, it was dark and depressing, the bathroom was very dated and felt unclean. We was dissatisfied with the location of the room as we requested a garden view however it over looked the pool in a main walkway to the restaurant with no privacy. The nets were tired and dated and our backs were very stiff the next morning from the mattresses. There were also many ants on the floor. The towels were off white and hard which is not 5 star. The next day we complained to reception who was initially disgruntled by our comments and made us feel it was our fault as we didn’t request a room, however we requested a garden view. We were eventually accommodated the following day and moved to the 3rd floor with a beautiful Mountain View. The bathroom appeared less tired but still needed updating. On a positive note, there was always something to eat for even the fussiest eaters, the staff were attentive and friendly. Our maid, Nina was lovely and made up our room excellently daily, however a fresh mid week linen change would be appreciated. The location of the beach and pool is flat and accessible with tasty cocktails. Kids clubs was far too late, it was loud and spoilt the ambience for eating dinner in the beautiful outside spaces. What made our holiday was the animation team, they were faultless with fantastic evening entertainment and around the pool. We loved aqua aerobics. On departure, a receptionist questioned our demeanour when we arrived stating we looked “Sad, and did you leave your troubles behind” which felt intrusive when we were fine. Overall our experience was satisfactory, the hotel is definitely not 5 star. I know we are being critical, but it’s constructive feedback for the hotel to improve customer experience.
