We were given a very small claustrophobic hot room, not suitable for the 3 it was intended for. And as they didn’t have an alternative we left the next day. In the 7 years since I was last there the hotel has smartened up a little, but the massive half built development on the beach has spoilt everything. We won’t be returning

Sagando Bungalows are situated next to a big hotel where the music is very loud, day and night. You cannot rest in the evenings, you cannot rest in the mornings. When I arrived, the first thing I was told is that this is a very quiet place, this is untrue! When I went to complain about the noise at the reception, I was told they should stop the music at 10 o'clock clock. This again was untrue. The loud music continued into the early hours of the morning and then all day again. In my room I had massive giant ants. It was terrifying. I had to sleep with my luggage next to me in the bed. I didn't want the ants to nest in my backpack. When I complained about it, they brought and insect repellent and I had to sleep in that smell. Shouldn't this be done before the guest arrives? When I arrived there was no electricity until late at night and was no Internet either. All I could do was to listen to next door's loud music. I had 3 nights booked but needles to say I left the next morning. I wanted to save my holiday from disaster. I requested a refund for two nights. Initially I was told the manager is on its way with my money, than after two hours of waiting I was told the manager is not coming anymore and I should email to receive my the refund. I emailed, I sent messages on WhatsApp, I asked my zanzibarian contact to get in touch with them but I received no refund and no response. If you don't want to ruin your holiday, don't book this place. My experience was awful.

A corner of paradise to discover the most authentic Zanzibar, away from the big touristic villages. Surrounded by greenery, the local-style bungalows of Sagando are an oasis of peace, 150 meters from a wonderful beach with exposure to unforgettable sunsets, one of the few beaches still untouched. The rooms are well equipped, with typical details, with a furnished terrace and with suggestive outdoor bathrooms, overlooking the palm trees. Resting on white sand, the Sagando offers hammocks and seats of all kinds in the shade of a lush green and in a relaxed and intimate atmosphere. Excellent cuisine and local fruit juices. Very kind and very nice everyone, from Ali, the owner, to the women of the staff, first of all Veronika. A dream stay, you never want to leave. Super recommended!

If you want local culture, friendliest of people, deserted beaches - amazing sunsets and peace and quiet then this is the best. The accomodation is basic - but has everthing you need. The food is good and wholsome; the staff are so lovely, so happy and friendly, nothing is too much trouble - a big thank you to Veronica (from 'Big Boss) she was like a sister to me! I'd be happy to go back in a heartbeat. This place is so chilled...it is like paradise on earth.

The bar staff were very friendly, particularly Nichalaus and Veronique. The reception staff couldn't provude clear taxi fares and we had to haggle, meaning we were paying different amounts to go to the same town. Some fares were clearly much more than they should gave been. The accommodation was fine and the beach is only a 3 minute walk away. There are very few hawkers on this beach compared to Paje. It woukd have been nice if they had occasional entertainment as other places nearby clearly had evening events going on. Breakfast was fine, consisting of fruit juice, a plate of varied fruit, tea, coffee and pancakes, chapati or toast depending on which day of the week it was. It is a lovely place for a quiet, relaxing holiday next to a wonderful beach with amazing sunsets.

Charming, traditional vibes. Chill energy, easy going, surrounded by nature on the property, a few minutes walk to the most amazing beach, and great neighborhood. The environment here is so lovely! Really nice people work here! The bungalows are so crafty and cool, and very comfortable! We didn't have wifi or hot water in ours, but I think it depends on where you stay. We would absolutely come back in a heartbeat, and we actually did return to say bye to the staff one more time before leaving the east coast. This is such a cool place to be in Michamvi, and we wish we had booked our entire stay there! Best sunsets in the world. Oh, and the bartender makes the best margaritas, too!

Ce Lodge est tout simplement merveilleux mais il faut avoir un véhicule car éloigné et difficile d'accès.L'atmosphère y est extraordinaire pour qui souhaite s'éloigner et se ressourcer.Le staff le plus gentil qu'on puisse trouver.Attention au restaurant qui n'appartient pas au propriétaire de l'hotel. On y mange tres bien mais très cher car ils savent qu'il est compliqué d'aller manger ailleurs.Immenses Plages à 200.
