그랜드 타마린드 레이크(Grand Tamarind Lake)

Staying at grand tamarind lake was an absolute delight! The serene view of the lake from my room was breathtaking. The staff went above and beyond to ensure my stay was comfortable, always with a warm smile and helpful attitude. about the food – simply divine! Every meal was a culinary delight, with fresh, flavorful dishes.

I went twice recently and in December. The staff provided very good service, they were friendly, the room was clean, the food was delicious, the restaurant staff also provided excellent service. Great experience, but I heard bad news here that the front office supervisor has left. His name is MAHESHI, front office staff provided excellent service while he is office supervisor, especially front office supervisor MAHESHI - from room booking to check out, he did his job perfectly without any problem for me. She was friendly everywhere. I noticed someone made a false post about her here. That's why I'm posting my comment. As far as I am concerned she has done her duties well, my family and I wish her all the best for the future, this is the best hotel I have visited with excellent staff and good location. Highly recommend. ✨

Six of our family stayed at Grand Tamarind Lake on 3rd and 4th August2023. We were warmly greeted on arrival with a much-appreciated welcome drink. Our baggage was brought to the rooms after they allocated rooms on the second floor. The many trees all around made me feel close to nature. The airconditioned rooms were large and spacious measuring 6m x 5.5m. The king size bed was comfortable with clean white sheeting. Other items in the room were the fridge, overhead fan, bedside tables, tv, dressing table with mirror, safe, benches to hold our bags, a cupboard, a table and two comfortable chairs with a circular table. The veranda outside the room was quite spacious with two chairs and a table. Upper rooms were accessible by lift. The bathroom was quite spacious too with clean neat toweling. Hot water shower was most welcome after our trips into the park. Liquid soap, vanity kit, shower caps, conditioner were all available. There is no bar at the hotel. We had our meals in the spacious dining room downstairs. Each of us chose our meals from their ala-carte menu both for lunch and dinner. They provided packed breakfast for our morning visit into Yala National Park. The food was tasty and nice. The staff were helpful, courteous, friendly and attended happily to our smallest need. We enjoyed our stay. Thank you.

We stayed at Tamarind Lake for one month as we had to visit Kirivehera temple every morning for 30 days. Staff at Tamarind Lake made our stay very homely. They gave us a great room that was suited for long stay, house keeping team was great looking after keeping the room neat and tidy. Chef Priyantha and his team looked after us by customizing our meals as we were vegetarian during this month. Also a big thank you to the operations manager Naleem, Shalaka, Damikka and the front desk team for looking after us, regularly checking in and making us feel as if we were staying at a best friend’s house. Our total experience living in Katharagama for a month was so good that we are now deciding to make this an annual tour. Thanks again to the team at Tamarind Lake Katharagama.

It was a wonderful stay, I traveled with my family to kataragama and this is the best hotel in kataragama. The food wad soo delicious, rooms are clean and tidy. Specially wants to mention about the staff. Staff was soo friendly and the service was amazing. Special thanks to Dammi the Front Office Manager and the person who was scouting us to room (Female staff), Also the female staff who served us at the restaurant at lunch (Didn’t get the name). Highly recommend and value for money.

Nice hotel with very large rooms (we had room n° 725). Spacious terrace overlooking garden and lake. Restaurant was oké; food also oké. Mind no alcohol is served ! Large reception lounge and waiting room. Very friendly staff. Breakfast was also good with good choice.

A group of 5 people was on a pilgrimage to Kataragama including 2 Buddhist Monks who needed urgent accommodation. When I called the hotel, Front Desk Manager Dammi was so willing to organise their accommodation in no time. The group was very warmly welcomed by Dammi and she was so fantastic. The best hotel they have ever stayed at is the Grand Tamarind Lake in Kataragama. Dammi went out of her way to make sure their stay was comfortable, from providing them with a discounted rate, upgrading their room, organising laundry in a hurry at night, Dietary requirements, Safari trip etc. All in all, it was one of the most memorable stays the group has ever had - definitely worth every penny! Thank you Dammi and everyone for your fantastic hospitality.

Arrived as part of a tour party with Mercury holidays. This hotel has spacious rooms that are clean and comfortable. We had a balcony, tea and coffee making, and air conditioning.The air conditioning unit leaked and so the additional single bed in our room ( we didn’t need) would have got wet if we didn’t move it. The buffet food was good. The pool was warm, but only 6 sun loungers so no where to relax, the lookout was closed as it was dangerous.
