Kura Kura Resort

This is my third time in visiting Kura Kura Resort since 2022. And they’re getting better and better. My room’s always at the Private Pool and I’m happy this year I didn’t find the scary bugs I found two years ago and also last year. I brought 4 of my friends this year and they also very happy and we have plan to come back next year. The staffs are always friendly, it’s like a family. Mbak Nita, mas Siswanto, mbak Emy, Rosi Fitri, new chef pak Fajar and also new bartender Didi and Jepri at the restaurant. I was thrilled when mas Sis and chef Fajar making a Sundanese menu as an option because they knew that we are Sundanese. I’m spoiled. And the dish chef Fajar made is excellent Sundanese food. I still drooling when remember his gehu and rujak cuka. I can’t wait to be there again, lying on the sand at beach and having cocktails while watching sunset.

The value for money is terrible. The rooms feel like 1970, worn out and unclean. The food is beyond boring and uncreative. Frozen seafood on an island... impossible. The service was really nice, but untrained. You have to pay extra for WiFi. Drinks and food are about ten times more expensive than in Karimunjava, about 5 kilometres away. The diving instructor is unbelievably cheeky. We were backpacking in Java for two weeks and only when I arrived at Kura Kura Resort did I get diarrhoea... after we complained, they gave us a room upgrade and dinner. Unfortunately it was still frozen seafood. The rooms were ok... Luckily we were only there for three days.

Amazing! Kura Kura is a beautiful island resort and you will be transported to a different world. It's a perfect place to disconnect from tech and enjoy a natural detox. The accommodations are spacious and well furnished. The restaurant serves delicious Italian and local cuisine and the bar is well stocked. The place has great diving and snorkeling sites and the resort has in house dive center to take you out on fun excursions. Sit under a canopy of coconut trees with a book in your hand and enjoy a peaceful sunset with the evening breeze brushing your hair. You can also enjoy paddle-boarding in the lagoon. This is a really fun activity to learn and enjoy with your spouse or family. The hospitality is top notch and the staff are very friendly. The manager Sandro personally came to receive us and see us off at the harbour - nothing quite like a personal touch! We greatly cherish the time spent here, thank you Kura Kura :)

The experience in Kura kura resort was wonderful in every aspect: - the island itself is a little paradise with a blue lagoon and inserted in a natural park with a great biodiversity (birds, fishes, plants) - the staff is very professional, kind and helpful - even though the island is little there are plenty of activities (snorkeling, stand up paddle, Indonesian boat paddle, scuba diving, excursions, spa... And sun bathing of course) - the food was delicious with a great variety of dishes for every meal (both Indonesian and Italian cuisine) The only complaints consist in the meals timing (sometimes way too long) and in the fact that there's no medical personnel in the island.

Ottima struttura e location. Ottima la pool Villa . Ottima esperienza col diving per le immersioni, personale di terra e in acqua all'altezza, valida la conduzione, a cura di Roberta. Sicuramente posto ottimo per relax e per veri amanti del mare a 360gradi. Barriera corallina florida e praticamentente intatta, facilmente vivibile pure in snorkeling, anche grazie all'assenza di importanti correnti.

Arrivando con la barca delle 5pm come noi, potresti inizialmente non percepire completamente la bellezza di questa meravigliosa isola, in quanto il sole è già basso e la luce che filtra nell’acqua è attenuata. Ma appena sorge il sole il mattino successivo, lo scenario cambia completamente, il blu cristallino del mare presenta tutte le sue sfumature, la cornice di un cielo limpidissimo ed una vegetazione di palme verde completano lo scenario ideale in cui iniziare una vacanza meravigliosa. Ho soggiornato due settimane tra fine Luglio e Agosto con la mia famiglia e due bambini di 12 e 7 anni. Importante premessa, Kura Kura è un eco-resort in Central Java e non un luxury resort delle Maldive o Polinesia. Sebbene il livello della struttura si differenzi, l’isola, la natura, la barriera corallina e certi servizi sono assimilabili a quelli delle destinazioni più rinomate. Oltre al bellissimo paesaggio di questo piccolo atollo, tre sono gli aspetti che ci sono piaciuti piu’ di tutti e che secondo noi differenziano questo atollo da tante altre isole visitate in 18 anni di viaggi in Asia e Oceania: 1) la ventilazione costante che permette di goderti sole e mare senza sudare; 2) la privacy di cui puoi godere, ti trovi spesso da solo o con pochi altri clienti nella spiaggia della costa east o quando fai snorkeling; 3) il cibo “Italiano” davvero assimilabile all’Italia ed ad alcuni resort delle Maldive ma assai superiore e neppure confrontabile a qualsiasi altro resort dell’Asia Pacific e Oceania, che è un bel plus quando si permane due settimane soprattutto con bambini. Resort: noi abbiamo soggiornato nella pool Villa che permette di accomodare comodamente due extra beds. La camera è spaziosa, con guardaroba ed una scrivania. Il bagno nel retro è ben spazioso. Nel giardino esterno c’è un loggiato con divano, frigo, speakers, lettini ed una piscina che alla fine non abbiamo usato molto perché di fatto la piscina naturale del mare è un altro livello! Ottima la pulizia giornaliera della camera. Per la posizione e sole, si raccomandano le Pool Villa No. 24, 25, 26 e 27. Clima: la ventilazione sull’isola è davvero eccezionale, soprattutto in costa east puoi goderti tutto il giorno il sole senza che la sabbia venga sollevata dal vento. La costa Ovest è un po’ più protetta, devi spingerti in acqua o dal pontile dello snorkeling per avere lo stesso vento della costa east. Anche la zona ristorante è ben ventilata sia alla sera con la cena all’aperto cosi come a pranzo, eccezionale per noi mangiare sotto le palme a bordo del mare! In due settimane abbiamo sempre avuto sole, un paio di mattine nuvolose che poi si sono trasformate in splendidi pomeriggi soleggiati, e’ piovuto solo alla notte. Ristorante: il cibo e’ senza dubbio uno dei punti di forza di Kura Kura. Avendo viaggiato molto in Asia e Oceania, non abbiamo trovato qualcosa di paragonabile, sembra davvero di essere in Italia.
