So, i booked via Trip.com for my parents and realised i can only reserve and not pay in full, so as soon as I reserved, I put in cancellation and was told it will be done in couple business days and then I proceeded with booking via a different site that let me pay in full. Fast forward, trip.com says the hotel didn't reply on the cancellation and when my parents went to stay, the hotel staff mentioned that they have to pay for the room booked via trip.com. I had sent a cancellation request directly to the hotel as well. Just a cheap way to make money. Disappointing both trip.com and the hotel staff.
