호텔 칼리테아(Hotel Kalithea)

It's a small family owned hotel. Staff was friendly, but loud. Rooms are quite small and at least in our room the beds were really uncomfortable. Air conditioning costs 6€ per night. We stayed at 2 different rooms and they were both poorly cleaned, felt like the housekeepers only mopped the floor each day and ignored everything else. There was mold in our shower curtains. The entire bathroom floor flooded with water every time we used the shower and there was nothing to dry the floor with... The bar right next to the hotel was noisy in the evenings and at night and we couldn't sleep properly. We paid for breakfast in advance and it was ok, but wouldn't recommend it. The best thing about the hotel was the pool area and the garden. Location is also pretty good, bus stop, two grocery stores, pharmacy, several beaches and nice restaurants within walking distance. Overall it was okay, but we wouldn't go again. This place could use some serious renovation or at least deep cleaning.

We like that it has personality. Here you can be private and you can be part of the house. We like both. It’s friendly and has character. There’s a parrot, a kittens being fed after it lost its mom. There’s books and a very well kept exotic garden around the meet pool. There’s cleaning everyday and here you greet each other.

At first we were given 2 double rooms, the standard was horrible: the knobs and handles on dressers and closets was falling off, or so loose we did not dare to open. No places in the rooms where we could keep our clothes. Spiders with eggsacks and alot of dust in the balconys. Alot of traffic, much noise in the nighttime with cars honking, and driving back and forth. All the sunbeds placed under vegetation, so bugs and leaves were falling on you all the time when you were in the sunbed. The cleaning staff was friendly, but not very thorough in cleaning. Big lumps of dust on top of shelves, hairs in the sink when we arrived, both in kitchen sink and bathroom sink. Breakfast is super poor... Not even fetacheese, as you would expect when coming to Greece! All in all NOT HAPPY with this stay at all.. I will come back to Rhodes, but will NEVER EVER stay in this hotel, neither will I recommend it to ANYONE.

Staff are superb very welcoming friendly and professional especially Angelo Berna - thank you for making us feel special during our stay. Pools are wonderful - grounds are immaculate and we particularly enjoyed staying in low level accommodation- no high rise in this hotel lovely

Bad cleaning in the room and awful design. The staff was not serviceminded. We asked for wineglass and coffecups, but it was not allowed in the room. This is the first time ever we have experinced that and we have traveled the world alot. Breakfast was not good, bad coffe and juice. The only thing that was ok was the bed.

Fantastic hotel. Staff are fabulous. Carolina, Nico and Costa could not have done more for us. Clean and good breakfast Hot showers No charge for air con as in previous reviews The pool is perfect with a swim up bar My friend left his bag on the local bus with his money and phone in. Costa to the rescue jumped on his motorbike with My friend on the back and drive into Rhodes retrieving the bag. We would certainly book this hotel again

We stayed for a week. Owners were supernice, always availible if you need anything and even held a wedding at the hotell when we left. Everybody (also other guests) were helping, which was so sweet. The pool area is nice! Alot of huge plants, a cute bar and enough shade, which made it feel very hidden, even though beeing right in the senter of Kalithea. A bit of walking to the beach (maybe 5 min). The hotellrom was okay but we would not stay there again. Floors where mopped and new towels almost every day, but the bathroom was dirty, shower didn't work properly and the bedding smelled awfull. Some pillows/covers smelled like old sweat! Wifi was too bad to use in the room. Also aircondition costs 6euros extra per night. They only take cash and you have to buy every drink at the poolbar when enjoying the pool. All in all, it wasn't the worst, but not the best either.

Staff was nice and it was interesting to see all the family working together in different tasks. Pool area was excellent, lots of shade, trees and plants, warm water. For the price, the hotel is very good- I liked the a**osphare. However, would not go back for one huge reason. The beds were so horrible. I mean it was like lying on the floor. Our backs were hurting so bad it was difficult to get up in the morning and the double bed was very narrow- I ended up sleeping in the extra bed and my daughter slept with my husband, because I almost fell from the bed several times. Note: they only take cash, so be prepared if you need aircon or want to buy something from the bar.

Family run hotel. Lovely staff who were kind and chilled. Clean rooms. The hotel had a lovely small pool-swim up bar attached. Rooms clean No charge for air con as I’ve seen in other reviews. Breakfast continental and suffice. Shops 50m It was value for money and I would recommend.
