Calypso Palace

We stayed in a swim up room on the 4th floor, this is the main floor with the main pool, bar and restaurant. The room was very modern with a super comfy bed, lots of chairs, a great waterfall shower and of course the swim up pool with two sunbeds outside the door. Everything was very clean. Overall the room was one of the best I've stayed in at any hotel. The restaurant and bar were great offering a good selection however the quality could've been better on some occasions. Some of the foods seemed very oily and like they had been sitting for a while. Despite this the food was still overall good and better than most all inclusive hotels. The cocktails in the bar were excellent with lots of choice and using branded spirits. The hotel definitely seems to cater to German guests as a majority; the staff all defaulted to speak in German and all other guests were German. This isn't an issue to me but I know others may not appreciate this. Staff were all friendly and helped us feel welcome.

Wir waren für mehrere Tage in diesem Hotel (Calypso Palace) und leider entsprach es nicht ganz unseren Erwartungen. • Die Anlage wirkt auf den Fotos im Internet deutlich moderner, in Wirklichkeit ist nur der Zimmerbereich renoviert, der Rest ist eher altmodisch. • Beim Essen hatten wir mehr Auswahl erwartet. Zwar war es geschmacklich in Ordnung, aber die Vielfalt war sehr begrenzt. • Durch die Nutzungsmöglichkeit des Schwesternhotels war zwar mehr Angebot vorhanden, allerdings war es dort extrem überfüllt, sodass man nicht wirklich entspannen konnte. • Der größte Kritikpunkt: die Hellhörigkeit der Zimmer (vor allem in der 2. und 3. Etage). Man hört ab früh morgens jedes Geräusch aus der Lobby – insbesondere das Schieben von Tischen und Stühlen. Vier Nächte lang war an erholsamen Schlaf nicht zu denken, erst nach einem Zimmerwechsel wurde es besser. Positiv hervorheben möchte ich allerdings das Personal – besonders im Restaurant und an der Bar. Alle waren sehr freundlich und bemüht, was wir wirklich geschätzt haben. Fazit: Leider kein wirklich erholsamer Aufenthalt. Die Zimmer sind modernisiert, aber die restliche Anlage, die Lautstärke und die fehlende Ruhe machen viel vom Urlaubserlebnis zunichte – einzig das Personal hat einen guten Eindruck hinterlassen.
