I recently visited Baghan Resort for a two-night, three-day stay, marking my third visit to this property. Unfortunately, I was thoroughly disappointed with the quality of service and the staff's attitude. The standards have significantly deteriorated since my last visit. The resort has added several new cottages, but they are smaller in size and lack the charm of the earlier ones. The gardens near the cottages were barren and dry, with no greenery or natural beauty, which was extremely disheartening. The staff were untrained and unprofessional throughout our stay. On the second day, we were the only family staying at the resort. Instead of offering the promised buffet, the staff insisted we place a customized order from their menu. We complied and informed them of our preferred dining time, but when we arrived at the cafeteria, none of the food was prepared. We were made to wait 20–25 minutes, and even after another 30 minutes, they served food in ridiculously small portions. The food service was frustratingly slow. Each time we requested more, it took them over 10 minutes to bring another tiny portion. By the third serving, I lost my patience and expressed my dissatisfaction, especially since no discount was offered despite the subpar service. Additionally, they charged for my dogs, even though the dogs were not using any facilities and were merely staying with us. When I asked for bread, they refused, citing that their tandoor was closed. Instead of serving lachha tawa parathas as requested, they provided burnt and bitter phulkas. Additionally, the chicken they served had a foul smell, making it inedible. This poor service continued into the next day. Breakfast was not served as a buffet, and although the staff, after my complaints, became more polite and repeatedly asked for our preferences, the overall experience was still substandard. The resort charged me ₹22,000 for two nights, which is an exorbitant amount considering the lackluster service and amenities. For this price, I could have chosen a far better place offering superior hospitality. Another guest I met during my stay, who was visiting for the fourth time, echoed my sentiments. She too vowed it would be her last visit due to the resort's declining standards. The property itself seemed neglected, with overgrown mango trees but no grass or gardens. Everything appeared rusty, dusty, and unkempt. Stray dogs roamed freely, causing concern for the safety of my pets. Adding to the frustration was the rude behavior of Shikha at the reception. She was ill-mannered, unprofessional, and unfit for dealing with guests, especially considering the resort caters to an affluent clientele. Employing such staff will undoubtedly tarnish the resort's reputation. This was my final visit to Baghan Resort, and I strongly advise others to avoid becoming victims of their poor service and false promises. The experience was nothing short of appalling, and I regret choosing this place for my vacation.
