We received complimentary upgrades, our room was ready well before the official check-in time, and the concierge assisted with all reservations, recommendations, and daily plans. We had planned for almost a year to come to Bahia Vik in Jose Ignacio to celebrate my mother-in-law's 80th Birthday. Our stay more than exceeded our expectations. It is a gorgeous setting, with a large dining room/lounge with huge windows that look out on the ocean. Each room is named for the artist whose work decorates that room, which makes the experience feel intimate and unique and not a standardized hotel experience. The hotel is small, and the staff made all 9 of us feel. We were cared for individually, recognizing us whenever we walked by the front desk and continually checking on us, giving advice, or helping us with plans. A couple of employees went above and beyond to help us. Zahira worked tirelessly to ensure we had dinner reservations, activities, and tours. When I had a concern about not being able to get into a crowded yoga class, she made sure to check into the situation and follow up with me so that I was able to enjoy myself. Most importantly, however, Lucia was the hero of our trip. We had a challenging situation involving one of our young adult children who got lost in another town, and she stayed up all night with us, translating Spanish and advising us on how to proceed. She stayed working hours after she needed to and displayed such incredible concern, consideration, and care that we felt we were in excellent hands. We can't wait to return to this beautiful country with lovely people, delicious food, wine, and an exceptional setting.
