There is so much potential in this hotel, but it's being wasted. First, the good stuff: The rooms are spacious, clean, and quiet. The beds were excellent and extremely comfortable. The pool area looks inviting, but it was winter so I didn't use it, except for an occasional cigarette outside. Check in and booking was flawless, and the price is totally reasonable for the room you get. For my purposes, the location was perfect. WiFi was fine. Now the not so good stuff: There is a complete lack of managerial hands-on at this hotel. A competent manager would identify these problems immediately and solve them straight away. 1) Reception staff are always busy watching YouTube or movies 2) Loud and inappropriate music is played in reception because the reception staff like it 3) You get two coffee cups in the room, but only one sachet of coffee 4) The smoking area is outside... there are no ashtrays, and none to be found anywhere. 5) I asked at the bar if I could have a beer glass for my room. I was rudely told "No, the glasses are for the bar". Never have I ever been told this in ANY hotel I've ever stayed at. (The glasses in the room are about 100ml, tiny, and absolutely useless.) 6) Another guest was drinking a soft drink at the pool that she'd bought at the airport. The guy from the restaurant told her this was not allowed. What drivel is that? 7) The door handles at the entrance door and the exit to the rooms are grubby, and thick with black goo from many hands.... just clean them! 8) There's no bar fridge in the rooms. Not too serious, but a nice-to-have 9) The safe in my room was locked, so it was useless 10) I enquired at reception about laundry... I was referred to a guy who I believe is employed in some sort of capacity at the hotel, who does laundry as a side hustle. He did a decent enough job, but wouldn't give me a receipt. I believe that the hotel has a formal laundry, in which case this employee and the reception staff are stealing from the hotel 11) This afternoon there were pillow cases and towels all over one of the outside tables at the pool, and some staff members were folding them and doing stuff with them. Is this a professional image? Doing hotel laundry in a public space? 12) My doorway was blocked by a vacuum cleaner because the adjacent room was being cleaned... a small niggle, but an irritation that management should pick up and train staff to avoid. 13) After being told I can't have a glass for my room, and seeing a guest being told they can't drink a soft drink that they didn't drink at he hotel, there is no way that I will patronise the bar or restaurant. First impressions are vital, and the guy who runs the restaurant completely blew that first impression. It may sound like I'm being overly picky, but if you look at my other reviews you'll see that I always give credit where it's due, and I never complain about something unless it's justified, and in this case it is. The owners of the hotel need to sort out the managemen
