Country Inn of Shelby

We were set to drive in very close to the midnight closing time for check in. We called ahead and the staff helped us be sure our family with 3 young kids had a room and a good nights sleep when we arrived. Grateful for a nice stay in Shelby, IA.

The people were so sweet it was so calm and peaceful we enjoyed our stay and plan to go back for sure

A very comfortable place to stay. The manager, Melissa, works very hard to keep things homey and clean. Unfortunately, the lack of modernizing, unmatched and old furniture, and overall upkeep make it feel like a motel from the 80’s.

Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. Room was very clean and comfortable. Will definitely stay again.

Check-in was a bit of a trial due to some problems with billing, but the staff worked hard and got it resolved. They were very helpful. The room and motel were fine - with one small criticism.The bedframe was slightly larger than the bed, and I kept stubbing my toe on it! Maybe I'm just a klutz - otherwise, the room was good and we enjoyed our stay.

I think the owners are trying hard to make this a nice place. However, I think they should spend a nite in each room to find out what that room needs.

Very comfortable, and all around nice place to stay, i will be back again in the future. Staff was great as well.

Very clean. It was like staying at your aunt's house. Not fancy but clean and tidy. Relieved to find an affordable spot to rest. Very friendly too!

Ok value for the price, mattress was comfortable, pillows were flat flat flat! No handsoap by the hand washing sink, no hair dryer, only a banquet chair to sit on -There isn’t a deadbolt on the door - a little in nerving since it is an outside entrance motel-I would possibly stay again but know I would need to bring along items of convenience.
