Such a cozy hotel next to the main attractions (Blue Mosque, Basilica Cisterna, Topkapi, etc). Perfect location and amazing, very helpful staff. A huge thank you to Emre for our amazing stay in Istanbul. In addition, there is a small nice garden with the kitchen which is accessible 24/7.

This is an odd review in that technically I reserved my room here through AirBnB without knowing the room was actually the top floor of the Sublime Porte Hotel. Normally, I would just review on AirBnB and be done, but I wanted to say some thing about the hotel in general. I paid through AirBnB, but all comments about breakfast, location, and staff related to the hotel in general. The hotel is very centrallly located. In some rooms, you can see Topkopi out your window and you can walk to everything else. But to the meat of this... the staff are the most attentive you will ever get at reasonably priced hotel. Not one are they kind and personable, but they got my boyfriend and I out of some real trouble-- the boyfriend left his phone in the back of a taxi at 2:00 in morning, and the staff was tireless in calling the phone, negotiating the price of phone return (the taxi driving was awful and yelling and demanding a good deal of money for the phone's return so having someone negotiate this in Turkish was essential). The last day, my driver to the airport (who I had booked through a third company) did not arrive, and they were very helpful in calling and helping with the situation (I made my flight!). Anyhow, my room was fantastic (I'm sure they can direct you as to how to book the top floor if you contact them) and the staff in general were just the best guys. Thanks!

We stayed at the Sublime Porte Hotel in Istanbul's old town for 3-nights in mid-May ($259 Can). It is a small hotel, beside the Topaki Palace's wall perched on a slope facing the Sea of Marmara downstream from the Bosporus outlet, a short 5-min walk to the Palace, Blue Mosque, Aya Sofya and Basilica Cistern, and ~20 min to the Grand Bazaar. While the Sublime Porte is a small hotel, they rented the top floor room through Airbnb. The room was clearly the best in the hotel, a large suite with a sea view balcony. The bedroom area was open to the bathroom at the back and fronted by the large, full-width balcony (table and 2 chairs) with stunning views of the palace walls and the ocean beyond, ideal for watching the ships go by while having breakfast or sipping a sunset drink. The room was furnished with a comfortable queen bed with side tables, a long desk, plenty of storage space in a wardrobe plus 4 sets of 3-drawer cabinets. The bathroom was large with plenty of counter space and a large shower with good water pressure. You should note that the bathroom is open to the bedroom, but the toilet is almost out of view behind the shower. Also note that the room is on the third floor up narrow staircases, but the staff will help with the luggage. Best of all was our host, Emrah. He spoke English fluently, and he was cheerful, friendly and helpful, a great source of information (need a SIM card, he will rent you one; want a Bosporus cruise, he will book it and don't pay him if you don't like it; want a local restaurant, he will give you recommendations and steer you away from the tourist traps), and always good for a chat when ever we saw him. Overall, an excellent choice in what can be an expensive city. The hotel in general is great, but definitely go to the extra expense to book the top floor suite. You won't be disappointed.

Despite the super attentive staff, the hotel is in desperate need of attention. upon arriving the first impression is of a completely abandoned place, dirt everywhere right at the entrance. When checking In, payment in cash is required, even though the pre-booking was made via *******, on the credit card, which doesn't sound any good. The same bags that were in the “reception” ,which is nothing more than a table with a laptop, remained in the same place 3 days later. Upon arriving in the room, another disappointment, the photos are completely false, old or at least with a very strong use of photoshop (there are photos with a view of the Hagia Sofia on the website (*******, booking, etc), which would be physically IMPOSSIBLE, given the location). Amenities of the worst possible quality, towels that looked more like rags, of how old they were. Breakfast that is mentioned on the booking sites is non-existent, you pay for a service that does not exist. There's no peace or quietness, the windows don't have curtains, so if your room faces the staircase (as was mine) people on the street can see all your comes and goings. After a long day exploring the city, when returning to the hotel, the employee is more concerned with making advances to female guests than paying any attention to you. This was my worst hotel experience, I just didn't change hotels due to the lack of vacancies in others, due to a religious holiday in Turkey. Will never go back and encourage anyone to make better use of their time and money

We stayed for 3 nights my trip was from New York It was incredible, I had never been in such a comfortable hotel Since the attention of your manager on arrival, transportation, cleaning the room, breakfast and location Front desk guy Emrah helped us with our bags and everything we needed to know about the city we will return in 2 months and we will return to this same hotel I recommend it 100%.
