Lann Dearg Studios

We stayed 4 nights in charming Invermoriston at Lann Dearg Studios. This is a self-catering property tucked amongst some of the most beautiful scenery in the area. Barry and Em are the most gracious hosts I have ever come across, not only upon welcoming us to the property, but offering great suggestions on places to eat and visit. We stayed in the ground floor studio as the King bed could be separated in to two twins for our purposes. Just let them know prior to arrival. They were very responsive to any questions I had prior to arrival. I truly believe they thought of everything in which to equip the studio, especially the kitchen. We enjoyed seeing the resident Pheasant and red squirrel, plus so many beautiful birds! There was even a document on the desk that had pictures of the different birds so you could identify. Ideally located on the Great Glen Way for walkers or backpackers, plus for visitors with a vehicle, you could easily and quickly pop down to Ft Augustus or up to Drumnadrochit for organized tours. (the Coos!) Reach the falls just steps from the property. We walked to the hotel in town for perhaps our best meal while we were in the Highlands at Glenmoriston Arms. (Make a reservation!) There is also a list posted in the studio with other places to eat and where they are located. Should we hopefully find ourselves in this area of Scotland again, we would not hesitate to stay at Lann Dearg.

We have left the fabulous studios today and are sad to leave. Barry and Em were very welcoming and full of local suggestions of places to visit. The studio is exceptionally equipped, clean and comfortable and in an wonderful location. We found the gardens tranquil and the local walks to see stunning waterfalls an absolute must. The locals are all very friendly and welcome questions about Nessie. We stayed for four nights and honestly would have liked to stay for another seven. We will definitely come again.

Amazing views, located close to forest walks and waterfalls. Hosts were very welcoming, this also reflected in the comfort of the studio,all I Needed to relax . A combination of work and play. Very nice work space, especially enjoyed the company of the birds

We spent two weeks touring Scotland and this was easily the best place we stayed. The Studios are well equipped and modern and Barry and Em were extremely friendly and helpful without being intrusive. (We even found a roll of foil in the kitchen drawer so that we could wrap our packed lunch). The place is so quiet we slept through without being disturbed. It is also close to Fort Augustus for the Loch Ness tours and Drumnadrochit for the Loch Ness exhibition. Difficult to find any negatives.

Stayed for three nights in the appartment on the first floor. Very clean, well equipped, quiet, cosy and surrounded by lots of birds. Loved that! Kitchen has everything you need and more. Bed is big en provides an extremely good nights rest. Shower: kudos for a closed cabin! Em, the host, was fantastic. She has a lovely personality and made us feel very welcome. Would definately reccommend!

A lovely place, with the best hosts. Nothing was too much trouble, I emailed them for some information and advice prior to our arrival and they came straight back to us, which was really appreciated and helped with our planning. On arrival we were greeted warmly, as soon as we drove onto the drive, they showed us to our studio and gave us all the relevant information, and how everything worked. As we didn’t arrive till late, the local shop was closed when we arrived so Em gave us some milk to see us through till we could go shopping the following day which was so nice and also advised us where we could get a meal that nights too. There was Tea, coffee etc all in place in the kitchen but everything seemed to have been thought about, anything you needed was there to hand and lots of information on places to eat, things to do etc. I would have no problem recommending LANN Dearg Studio’s its a fantastic place to stay with hosts we felt genuinely cared about us having a good time! First Class!
