Amazing, our home from home hotel. Been visiting for over 20 years, and it still feels as special as the first time.

Check in was smooth. Rooms were clean and comfortable with far reaching views of Saunton Sands beach. Nice garden to sit and relax with a drink and enjoy the sunshine and stare at the sea. Lounge area ok although bar was constantly cluttered with empty glasses and staff looked overwhelmed at times. We had dinner at the beach grill, food and service very good. Spa area ok although we were abruptly asked to leave after 5 minutes as children are not aloud in the indoor pool after 6 o'clock... ok but we were the only guests using the pool at this time. We moved to the outdoor pool which is heated and it was one of the rare warm days so it was ok. Breakfast had plenty of fresh cooked food to choose from the buffet. Fruit juices had run out and not been replenished. Coffees had been spilt into the saucers on their way to our table by the waitress who then let the toast fall out the rack onto our table, put them down and left. Overall not put off by our stay, maybe just a bad day but lacked the usual finesse we have experienced at other Brend establishments.

Terrible stay in a room that smelt like an old people’s home. We couldn’t sleep and I think maybe someone had peed the bed badly. Could hardly breathe. Service recovery was 50£ off which I think considering the stench and lack of sleep is not adequate. Some front of house staff and night porter were fabulous. But other staff were superior and unfriendly. The bar lacks atmosphere and is too bright. The outside front terrace has a sublime view but the ambience is awful as the furnishings and decor are so boring. Again no lighting that adds to ambience. I love this beach but won’t stay again after the this trip. The hotel charges five star prices but there are so many aspects that could be addressed and sorted to make this hotel amazing. Loads of potential but lacks ambience and tight management. Beachside grill great food and lovely staff. Decor is awful. Like a cheap cafe. Shame as again it has a fabulous location.

We have just returned from Saunton Sands Hotel and will definitely be returning soon. It has the most amazing location and views being right on the beach and with the sun shining we felt we were abroad. Excellent customer service, absolutely delicious food at both restaurants, amazing and stunning spa area, great heated outdoor pool too. Our only issue was the slightly dated bedroom and ensuite facility but the bed was still very comfortable.

The most beautiful hotel imaginable. And a lovely team. Thank you Ania and Anthony for clearing the view of Hercules. I’m here on the 80th anniversary of D Day and loving the view of the peaceful beach and grateful to our heroes for brining peace so my generation and others can enjoy Saunton Sands. Thank you Ethan on the desk. Georgie, Natasha, Jack, and Robyn in the spa. There are so many fab team members and sorry I haven’t mentioned you all. Everything anyone wants to know about this hotel is on their website which is an accurate reflection of how beautiful it is. But a beautiful place still needs a warm welcome and the team did that!

Fabulous hotel with friendly, helpful staff, great food and outstanding views. The spa is luxurious with great facilities, classes and treatments.

Saunton's hotel was exactly what I needed with stunning coastal views with its spa treatments, outside pool /room /yoga and restaurant overlooking from a cliff onto quiet Sauntons beach. Helpful and the kindest personnel working at the hotel made the stay even more special with glass of prosecco at the checkin. Kudos to spa for an amazing source facial and swedish massage.

The view is incredible. The staff are all so friendly and helpful. From the cold Prosecco on arrival to the porter helping us with our luggage to the car. This hotel gets it right. A really special and wonderful place to stay.

Hard to find a more impressive hotel and location in the UK and so if you haven’t already been or you are considering it but haven’t committed……..give it a try, you won’t be disappointed. Yes of course there is no guarantee of good weather and it is on a cliff top so it’s sometimes windy and not the Mediterranean but the views the beach and the dining all top notch. The traffic in summer will probably frustrate you but wherever you go in the south west it’s always a challenge…..that’s summer holidays in the UK ! Once you are there whether it’s with kids or just a couple there’s loads to do …spa, indoor and outdoor pool, nearby championship golf, tennis, surfing, the burrows…even a falconary display if you are into nature. We were lucky to have a sea facing room which provides amazing views across Saunton Sands beach and so if you can, try and secure one of these for a memorable visit.
