Our stay at Wilderness Hotel Juutua was really quite wonderful. Though we were only on site for about 24 hours, we had the chance to explore the property, go on a terrific snow hike, and dine at the beautiful restaurant Aanaar. The booking process was smooth and straightforward; we secured a Wilderness Suite with an in-room sauna, which proved to be a highlight. Locating the property was easy; it's a short walk from Inari village and close to the local supermarket, pharmacy, etc. but the river and its location just off the main highway still give it a tucked-away feeling. Located in a building a few steps away from the main lodge, our suite was on the second floor with a small balcony that overlooked the new sauna building and the riverside. It was beautiful, clean, and well-kept with a number of really nice touches (e.g. an electric kettle for hot water, a heated warming cabinet for drying wet winter clothing, some lovely textiles). Our rate included dinner at Aanaar which was really delicious, as stated by other reviewers. Breakfast the next morning was also quite comprehensive with lots of offerings, all of which were tasty (waffle-lovers and those who are gluten-free would appreciate the waffle maker and the full station of gluten-free items, complete with a gluten-free toaster!) The staff with whom we interacted were all gracious/helpful and the property was very tastefully appointed with a large bar and seating area, a helpful electronic board with activity times and registrations posted, and festive holiday decor. This was a perfect place to wrap up our active stay in Lapland and I would certainly recommend it for those looking for a traditional (i.e. non-igloo), more elevated hotel stay in Inari.
