암베디 에스테이트(Ambady Estate)

We really enjoyed our stay at Ambady. Very pretty grounds and individual cottages with a lovely garden to sit and watch the birds. Very friendly staff who will show you around the estate where they grow lots of spices. You have to pre order your evening meal so they can cook it to order.

Beautiful estate and lovely staff all passionate about nature and the environment. We were shown around the gardens, saw an abundance of wildlife and the cardamom plantation and explained the process of how it is grown, harvested and dried, all organically.

A splendid location on a hillside near Munnar on an organic plantation producing cardamom and coffee. Accommodation is in about ten cabins/bungalows in the pleasant grounds. Ours was a large, split level room with comfortable bed, simply furnished, and with its own semi-private garden sitting area. Meals are taken in a small indoor restaurant building: made to order for lunch when we arrived; served from a copious buffet in the evening and breakfast. Food was freshly prepared, homely and unsophisticated. Staff are very welcoming, helpful and keen to do the right thing, but they are a bit amateurish and tentative. There was no alcohol on the premises when we arrived for lunch, but they happily went shopping and provided beer forthe evening meal. Activities are available on the estate: looking at the cardamom-drying shed; looking at nature in the hilly tropical forest; getting views of the beautiful Western Ghats mountains, etc. We took a guide for a four-hour 'trek' through the estate looking at the spices, birds and animals there, but had to overrule his plans to return by walking ***** a main road / by tuk-tuk, and came back via the forests again.

Lovely bungalows set in very nice grounds. The room was very large with a nice seating area outside. Bathroom also large & very well equipped. It is a long way off the road & a long way out of town so we ate dinner here both nights & this was good & reasonable prices but you have to choose what you want earlier in the day. Staff were very good & friendly

Very comfortable place to stay, beautiful setting, and the service was outstanding. Austin took great care of us in the dining room and one of his colleagues made sure we had an enjoyable walk around the estate. Its a very peaceful and scenic place. The food was very good, freshly made. Would be very happy to visit again.

Rooms are good . Spacious and clean. Location is also good as it is 09 kms before Munnar town. Calm and quiet place. But rates are high. Food is not upto expectation. Breakfast spread s very poor even the room rates are high. With respect to price they charged, food is not satisfactory.

Ambady Estate is just before the main city of Munnar. It is situated on a tea and cardamom plantation and we were surrounded by nature all the time. It is a very welcome break for the life of a city dweller. You can hear the birds chirping in the morning and various insect noises at night. The cottage was big and airy, food was quite good and freshly made. You can walk around the estate as much as you want taking in the fresh air and the greenery. The only disadvantage of staying here is going to the main city becomes a little tough. Though if you arrange a cab, you can go for sight-seeing quite easily. When I'm going to Munnar again, this is where I'm going to stay. It's highly recommended if you like nature and quiet surroundings.

We stayed for 7days and 8nights in Ambady Estate. A much-needed break after 2 years. The location and Ambady Estate lived up to the reputation. A combination of a few factors made this memorable for us...fantastic location, super attentive and kind team, WONDERFUL food. Special mention Mr. Baiju, reservation process couldn't have been more smooth and professional, he was kind and gracious to answer all my questions. He resolved some reservation concerns I had and he ensured that all my questions were answered - his attention to detail and customer service had a tremendous impact on the quality of our entire stay. Special mention to Mr. Mahendran, an extremely friendly and knowledgeable person who made our trip worth remembering. Our housekeeping attendant Sudha went out of her way to ensure our room was neat, tidy and an inviting environment that made us feel calm and well-rested the day ahead. Special thanks to the chef, room service staff, and the gentle*** leading from the front...Kudos to you all and keep up the great work!!! It ended up being the most fantastic vacation that I ever had. Thank you, Ambady team...Can't wait to visit again :)
