So, this is my second time staying at GR. Now, where do I begin? I'm not sure if GR now has a new management or what, but boy, have they really dropped the ball on this place! I stayed here twice this time around. First in Iroko, the 3 bedroom penthouse and then Tulip, the 1 bedroom apartment. First let's talk about Iroko. The only thing this place honestly has going for it is the projector, and even that was mediocre at best. The toilet was leaking, the fixtures were barely holding on. Also, for $400/night, I'd expected to get more than 1 towel per room. Heck, even the Sheraton Hotel at Ikeja, which was about half the price, provided about 5 towels for a single room, and here I was being told that only one towel is available per room. If you need your room cleaned, you must request it, okay not a big deal, but you must make sure to do so before 2pm, otherwise good luck. I had my room cleaned and the cleaner never once changed out my towel. Heck, in one instance, the bathroom floor towel was even removed and was never replaced. Now, let's talk about the front desk. Let's just say the only competent person sitting there was a lady who went by the name of Christabel. I'll reserve my comments about everyone else. If you place an order for anything, better be sure to follow up on your own order because it may never come and you may never get any follow up on it. And should I talk about the lukewarm attitude? For example, there was an instance where the projector wouldn't turn on, so I requested assistance and a gentleman showed up, I explained the issue to him. Eventually I noticed the projector now working after he did something, so I asked what he did so as not to have to call them again, and he said "yeah, you just have to turn it on". I said really? But I did that, it didn't turn on, then he said "oh yeah, just use the remote", now I'm beginning to get irritated, so I said "dude, really? I'm not stupid, you obviously did something else", it was then he said, "oh, I had to climb the chair and turn the power on from the back of the projector itself". And I would have known this, how? Again, subpar customer service. Water is still an issue. As a matter of fact, in the words of Forrest Gump, water at GR "is like a box of chocolates. You never know what you're gonna get". One second it's good, next minute, it might smell horribly, next minute, it might not even be available at all. I learned my lesson from the previous year, so I made sure to stock up on water. I would like to give a shout out to one of the front desk executives, whoever you are who managed to bring two buckets of water up 2 floors for me to at least be able to take a shower, thank you. Bottom line is that I cannot and will not stay here again, nor can I recommend any of my friends or family members to stay here. It's literally a case of what you ordered versus what you got, and for what this place costs per night, the experience should always be outstanding. It's obvious that p
