The restored two storey cottage is situated in a very private position, surrounded by woodland and with wonderful views particularly of Celle di Puccini, the village where Puccini was raised. 5 Minutes from shops and restaurants, less than half an hour from Lucca. Originally constructed in 1738 the cottage retains the atmosphere of a typical Tuscan farmhouse. Equipped with many modern appliances and features to ensure it is comfortable in both winter and summer alike. On the ground floor is a spacious open plan kitchen/dining room. Gas central heating has recently been put in. The living room is centered around a working fireplace and includes a sofa bed, TV, DVD and satellite. The first floor contains two good sized bedrooms, one with a king bed and the other with a double bed, both with stunning views. There is a landing/sitting area.The cottage sits in an area rich in historic and cultural interest, approximately 15 kms north of the ancient walled city of Lucca. Lucca is a charming and beautiful city, with its priceless art treasures, narrow cobbled streets flanked by imposing palazzos, secluded squares, gardens and Romanesque churches. Whilst retaining all the elements of its age and history one finds sophisticated shops and restaurants. On the third weekend of every month there is a fantastic antiques fair which lasts for 2 days.Throughout the summer months there are various classical and contemporary music festivals. On top of the medieval walls which enclose Lucca are wide and shady tree lined avenues. Here the locals and tourists alike, stroll, cycle and walk their dogs. There are grassy ramparts ideal for relaxing after sight seeing or you can hire bikes and ride around the 4km of wall. In the following century it was enlarged and transformed into a farm with typical Tuscan traits. Now it is a charming country house, completely renovated and equipped with every modern comfort. It is possible to take walks in the beautiful surrounding countryside starting directly on foot from the house.The nearest town is Ponte a Moriano, reachable in a few minutes by car, which offers all the main services, including supermarket and shopping center, bars, shops, pharmacy, post office, carabinieri station, ATM / bank, etc.The city of Lucca is rich in history and art, in fact it stands out for its numerous churches and medieval towers, for the city walls and the Renaissance palaces, as well as to still preserve traces of the Roman origins. It is a land that still preserves the love for tradition, translated into the valorisation of craftsmanship and typical cuisine, enhanced by an excellent oil and wine.THE HOUSEThe house is on two floors and has terracotta floors and exposed beams in all the rooms.The entrance door overlooks the kitchen-dining room, with a large fireplace; It is furnished in typical Tuscan peasant style and equipped with appliances: oven and hob, fridge and freezer and dishwasher. Small appliances available: coffee and cappuccino machine, toaster, kettle, food processor. Next to the worktop there is a small utility room with a washing machine. Through an arch leads to a living room with a large sofa bed, television and DVD player. The living room is equipped with air conditioning in common with the kitchen.Going up the stairs in wood and wrought iron leads to the first floor. This is the oldest part of the house and is lit by one of the original windows of the oratory and a glass door.From the landing you can reach the bedroom, with two bunk beds and a wardrobe. Also in this room opens one of the windows of the eighteenth-century oratory. On the right of the landing there is a small entrance which opens onto the bathroom and the master bedroom. The bathroom has a shower and toilet. The double bedroom is furnished with a wrought iron bed and a decorated wardrobe. From the entrance you can also access a small closet, which can be used as a storage room. Both rooms have an air conditioning system.The house is surrounded on three sides by the garden, with private pool of 5m x 10 m, shower, sunbeds and deckchairs.
