A very warm welcome when we arrived we were there for award ceremony staff very helpful and friendly couldn't do enough my room was absolutely stunning we sat and relaxed in the bar until our function room and meal was ready excellent service food lovely plenty of staff serving at the bar and table's would definitely recommend and looking forward to my next visit

Have just returned from staying 2 nights here for our wedding day.. It was perfect from start to finish. Jemma and her husband are pros and the day ran seamlessly. It was decorated beautifully and everyone commented how wonderful the food was. Highly recommend.

Stayed for 3 nights, never got a hot shower once in the morning, reception suggested that we got up earlier and let the water run for 30 minutes, as if it were reasonable to waste water in this way, considering they put plastic flowers around to cut their carbon footprint,I suspect they need a rethink, ended up showering in a friend's room, not one of the options offered when we booked, breakfast on our first day took 45 minutes to arrive with the lowest quality ingredients ever. When I requested a coffee from the ground coffee machine, instead of the dreadful instant stuff on the counter I was told that that was not an option until 10.00 (45 min after breakfast service ended) however later in the day when we ordered coffee, it took over 30 minutes to arrive, as it took that long to heat up, As for the resaurant boasting traditional Welsh fare, the fare that arrived can have only come from ready meal provisions, one of us had the Welsh burgers consisting of two dense dry tasteless disc of unidentifiable meat, The staff cannot work miracles, only do their best with what they are given, and what they are given would appear very much cost related, overall the Impression given is of a struggling establishment, in need of an investment of finance, idea's, and a grasp of some level of service,

The staff here are super friendly. The setting is secluded and peaceful so perfect for anyone wanting a quiet or romantic getaway. The rooms are spacious and clean. Beds are a little uncomfortable and the pillows are in need of upgrade but it didn’t spoil our stay. Breakfast was hot and yummy. Prefer the buffet option at the weekend opposed to the limited menu selection in the week. All in all - Would recommend visit 👍

I recently stayed at Ty Newydd Country Hotel for one night with my daughter, to facilitate an experience booked at Zip-World the following day. The hotel itself is unfortunately ’tired’ and has certainly seen better days. The country lane access, car-park, gardens, court-yards, exterior facias and guttering are all lacking well overdue attention and create a foreboding first impression. Internally isn’t much better with most decorations and furnishings being in severe need of a re-furb, with the exception of the restaurant which appears to have had some recent attention. Reception was somewhat perfunctory and unfortunately failed to provide a welcoming atmosphere. The subsequent meal at the Caradog restaurant was likewise not worth the effort. Firstly it is themed as a specialist Welsh restaurant - that is categorically not the case. More importantly, the food was not good - I ordered the ‘special’, which was a beef curry. It was little more than last weeks pre-sliced roast beef with some kind of Thai green-curry sauce chucked on top - nasty. My daughter’s burger wasn’t much better, however we both ate as we had endured a long days travel and we are ‘typical’ brits so don’t like to cause a fuss. Some of the staff were lovely - you know who you are, thank you - however the rest really need to get into a different industry, hospitality is a tough game and you’re not in it. Sorry, won’t be back and won’t be recommending it to anyone we know any time soon. However there is certainly huge potential here for someone who wants to put some effort in, on face- value alone it’s a beautiful hotel!

Let me start with the positive. The young lads in the bar/restaurant are lovely and the food is what you pay for. Nothing special but not awful, just bog standard. This is as good as it gets I'm afraid. The hotel is old and tired and in serious need of attention and updating. This hotel is not run like any other hotel establishment I have ever visited and not in the good way! They requested full payment at the point of check in, which is unusual, but you soon realise why... Reception staff are not the most welcoming and I didn't find them helpful. They only provide 1 room key and there is NO spare apparently as they could not let me in when my partner had gone out for the day and I returned earlier than he did. There is NO housekeeping. You do not get fresh towels, your bed is not made and you do not get a top up of toiletries. You have to ask for more toilet roll at reception! The room was full of cobwebs and spiders (my partner had to deal with 3 before I could sleep on the 1st night), the bed was far too soft, the springs stuck in your back and the pillows were so flat and uncomfortable you are better off without them! The bathroom has been so poorly painted, I can do a better job of it. The bath had a nasty mark in it so it's a good job we prefer showers. However, the hot water was difficult to control and the taps in the sink are so close to the side of the basin you can't get your hand under it properly. The fan in the bathroom was so ridiculously loud, you might think you are in a spaceship about to take off. You certainly don't want to turn on the light for your midnight wee...! When asked at check out how our stay was, I mentioned a very few issues and they just did not seem interested and made up excuses. i.e the cobwebs and spiders, I was told there is not much they can do about it. Well...how about some housekeeping to clean? Needless to say, we won't be coming back and this was a group of 10 of us.

We had a very pleasant 3 night, bed and breakfast stay here. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The room was spacious and clean and the location of the hotel was perfect for visiting the beautiful local area. I would recommend this hotel without any reservations.

The wedding guests staying at the hotel made it very noisy, banging on doors, shouting in the corridor, big noise in the bar under my room till 0215. I was told on arrival that the wedding party would be other side to my room - not so. I got about 3 hours sleep. Even with good ear plugs.. With 5 hour drive back the next day. I went to recep. at 0210 but no one at desk. I wrote email direct to hotel to complain but no reply. I think I could have been given quieter room and bar noise reduced by shutting doors and asking other guests to be more reasonable after 2300...

Disappointed, very dated rooms. Bed was uncomfortable as you could feel springs. Breakfast was £12.95 and definitely not worth the price 😡
