🌴 Review: Dreamland Maldives (Stayed July 7–11, 2025) 🌴 Just returned from an amazing 4-night stay at Dreamland Maldives, and overall we were really impressed — especially if you love marine life and peaceful surroundings. 🐠 Snorkeling & Excursions – Absolutely worth it! The house reef around the island is full of life. We saw nurse sharks, sea cucumbers, and even sea turtles while snorkeling close to shore. Our favorite excursions were: • A trip to Hanifaru Bay to watch the majestic manta rays. • A nurse shark tour around the Dreamland reef — exciting and well organized. 🍴 Food – Delicious and better than expected We chose the Full Board package (3 meals per day), and the buffet meals were consistently good. Each day offered a variety of beef, pork, chicken, and fish dishes, along with rotating international options. We were pleasantly surprised to find Thai dishes occasionally included — such as Tom Yum Chicken Soup and Thai Fish Cakes (Tod Mun Pla) — both authentic and flavorful. 💧 Note – Full Board doesn’t include water Still water is not included in Full Board. • A 1.5L bottle costs around $3.50 USD, which adds up over several days. • If you prefer not to worry about extra drink charges, we recommend going for the All-Inclusive package instead. 🌧️ Weather Tip – Be cautious in July On our departure day, a storm delayed our seaplane, and we missed our international flight. If traveling in July (monsoon season), plan extra buffer time or stay a night near the airport before your outbound flight. Dreamland offers a relaxing and nature-filled getaway with great snorkeling and tasty food. We’ll gladly return — but next time, with All-Inclusive and flexible travel plans during the rainy season!

We left dreamlands yesterday after a 10 day all inclusive holiday. This was our 1st time to the Maldives and certainly won’t be our last. We had such an amazing holiday, we are booking again for the same time next year. On arrival: The sea plane was also a 1st for us. Landing at a pontoon out at sea and we then got collected by speed boat. Once we arrived at the islands jetty, we were given a fresh ice cold towel and welcoming drink. Reception check in went smoothly and once we were cleared, we were taken to our water bungalows, with cases being brought shortly after. Water bungalows: We had already upgraded when we booked the holiday as we wanted the full experience in our 1st Maldivian holiday. We had rooms facing the open sea side, which worked out perfect to go snorkelling each morning. The rooms are huge and kept real clean. Loved the outdoor shower. Snorkelling: We went everyday to different parts of the island. Never failed to spot turtles & reef sharks, which was our aim. But never failed to see different fish everyday. Always something new appeared. Admittedly the reef isn’t what it probably used to be, but that doesn’t stop the many thousands of fish swimming near it. Also, no need to bring snorkel masks with you, reception gives you them for free for the stay. If you’re not a strong or confident swimmer, there’s also a couple of life jackets in the rooms. Food: The food is just incredible. There is so much variety each meal time that if you can’t find anything you like, then it’s you that has issues, not the hotel. They cater for everyone. The 2 restaurants are the same layout and serve the same food. We always opted for the sea view side for obvious reasons. Nothing like looking out to sea eating breakfast and listening to the waves. Also a bonus when you see sharks, turtles & dolphins swimming nearby. Also, outside of the normal meal timings in the afternoons, there are toasted sarnies available from the Lakeview bar. This worked for us as we generally had a late breakfast, skipped lunch then had a toastie late afternoon. Staff: It’s just amazing how hard these work. They do the most incredible job and always do it with a smile on their face. Nothing is too much trouble for anyone we came across. They are so polite and cheerful, we built up a real good bond with many. Mainly the restaurant & bar staff. Great big pat on the back to you all. Excursions: We were offered a free excursion as part on all inclusive. We opted for the turtle snorkelling and wasn’t disappointed. Just amazing to see these beautiful creatures so gracefully swimming around us without a care in the world. We also paid to go in the dolphin spotting trip. This one is apparently a bit hit & miss. It’s called the ‘lucky dolphin spotting’ excursion. They do say beforehand that there’s a 50/50 chance you see them. However, we must have been the luckiest trippers alive that day. We saw hundreds close up and some even swam alongside the boat. Just incredible.

The island itself is so breathtakingly beautiful and the effort that goes into the maintenance is unmatched. However, that’s not what made this the perfect honeymoon - it was the people. It’s hard to explain just how wonderful the staff here are; they are so passionate about giving holidaymakers the best experience ever. Special mentions to Zaain, Ragu and SK Sarip in the sea view restaurant who's service goes above and beyond. The food and drinks are delicious and varied and we thoroughly enjoyed every meal here. It’s worth mentioning Abishake and Rashfan from the bar areas who are the friendliest and gave us lots of laughs and entertainment - Rashfan even showed us a few magic tricks! They’re very attentive and welcoming. The bungalows are spacious and clean, the bed big and very comfortable. The garden shower was one of our favourite details. We went on a few excursions, including the dolphin, sunset and fishing cruise - which was lovely. My only advice if visiting during rainy season is to book your trips early on as our turtle and manta snorkelling trips got cancelled several times so we never got around to doing them.

From the moment we stepped onto this island we had our every expectation exceeded. On arrival each couple was seated with one of the reservation team. I think our gentleman was Ahmed, he gave us an orientation of the island and was warm and welcoming. We were then escorted to our room by the room boy who took care of our room twice a day. The island is just stunningly beautiful and the ocean even more so. Highly recommend the trip to see the dolphins at sunset and the nurse sharks. Every member of staff on the island was polite and friendly. They work incredibly hard to make your stay as perfect as possible. Please if you can, leave reasonable tips. They never expect it but the service they provide is exceptional. The food was excellent and varied. The cocktails were strong and a nice selection was available. We stayed in a water villa and it had everything you need from shampoo to fly spray. Our villa 228 was absolutely perfectly situated on the ocean side. The water was like an aquarium from the moment you stepped in, and the drop off was close by, this was the perfect spot for snorkelling to see the beautiful Travely and roaming Reef Tips. The colours underwater were breathtaking. This place is truly a paradise. Don’t sweat the little things, just arrive, relax and everything will be perfect. Very average hotel. If you look for only a few nights stay and can find a good price deal on this hotel then go for it but lower your expectations. Positive was really beautiful house reef and lagoon and very friendly staff (apart from one reception guy). In our eyes this hotel deserves only 2* as it is located in Maldives but completely lacks Maldivian feeling, one star for friendly staff and second for the house reef. Now negatives: - All rooms are quite big but are feeling empty inside, chilling area and a sofa is missing. - Water villas (we had lagoon side - north) have no table on the huge balcony and only huge sun shade umbrella and two sunbeds without option to adjust their angles. Also any sitting chairs are missing on the balconies. With rooms you have to be generally lucky: the south side water bungalows have no access to house reef (there is stone wall built underneath the bridge) so you can only swim from there around all the villas. They also are located at the edge of the reef so you wont enjoy snorkeling there so much as you wont see anything in the deep ocean apart from ocean water... - Beach bungalows from what we have seen have better and worse locations - some of them gets constantly flooded, other have sandbags at their balcony doorsteps, other have no beach just a huge stones, from other you can only access beach by walking in front of your neighbor balcony, some have ok-ish location - AC in the room was not cleaned since ages, was leaking inside the room and was moldy giving us sickness for a few last days of our stay (we set it to 23-24 deg.) - Generally all staff members are very friendly apart from one guy in glasses working at reception (no idea about his name) - he is the front person of the hotel and seems he really doesn't care about his work, rude and unpleasant to talk to, lazy guy who plays on his phone each time you come to see him, also if you want something from him it is always a problem for him, his English is really bad and when you see him you just want to walk away. Rest of workers are friendly and chatty. - Staff is undermanned making you either see waiters running as quick as they can all the time when you try to enjoy your food, or you have to wait nearly 30 minutes for you ordered glass of Cola at the bar - Waiters comes to take your empty plate away when you partner still eats - Waiters comes to get you to sign the "bill" (although you are on AI) when you and your partner still eats - we have often situation they came with the bill to sign it when we were still in the middle of our meal! - Restaurants are serving dinner until 9pm, but if you come late they will almost kick you out at 9:05 pm and you will see a bunch of them running around you to prepare tables for the morning meal already - Beach bar has no beach feeling at all, Lake bar is a joke as it is full of mosquitos from every afternoon. Local mosquitos in Maldives can give you malaria or dengue fever - Inner island lake is completely unneces

Unser Urlaub im Dreamland war vom ersten Augenblick etwas Besonderes! Die Menschen sind unglaublich freundlich und versuchen einem einen wunderschönen Urlaub zu bereiten. Die Insel, die Unterkunft, die öffentlichen Bereiche sind sehr gepflegt und sauber. Das Essen ist phantastisch, es gibt einfach alles an diesem Buffet, sowohl morgens, mittags und abends. Die Insel ist mit viel Liebe und Bedacht gebaut worden. Das hauseigene Riff bietet alles an bunten, exotischen Fischen, Turtle's und Haien. Die türkise Lagune ist traumhaft. Es gibt wirklich gar nichts zu bemängeln, es war ein traumhafter Urlaub für uns!
