호텔 제가르텐(Hotel Seegarten)

Wir waren ein verlängertes Wochenende im Hotel Seegarten eingebucht. Das Hotel hatte leider aufgrund eines Wasserschadens ein paar " Umleitungen " und eine ausgelagerte Rezeption. Aber alle Mitarbeiter haben diesen Umstand mit sehr viel Engagement und Freundlichkeit überspielt. Die Zimmer sind top modern und chic ausgestattet. Der offen gestaltete Bad und Toilettenbereich ist etwas gewöhnungsbedürftig, aber eben besonders. Das Frühstück, die Drinks und das ausgezeichnete Abendessen haben keine Wünsche offen gelassen. Wir hatten ein Zimmer im zweiten Stock, welches leider viele Geräusche vom Parkplatz und der stark befahrenen Landstraße ( viele Motorräder) eingefangen hat. Alles in allem , wir haben ein tolles Wochenende verlebt, die Geräusche haben etwas genervt aber wir können uns wegen des tollen Essens und des sehr lieben und zuvorkommenden Personales einen weiteren Aufenthalt durchaus vorstellen....

This was our second visit to this hotel and it has since been extended. We arrived on a Monday and the restaurant was closed but reception recommended La Davioli very close by. Lovely meal and service there. Beautiful room but a very hot night and hard bed for my liking. Breakfast was busy good selection of breads, cold meats, cheeses. No pastries. Hot option was minced bacon, boiled eggs and rather grey looking omelettes. A unique offering was a whole honeycomb.

Lovely modern hotel in the middle of the Sauerland area.

Cooles Hotel

Rating of the hotel: (1) Location Very well. Nice view of the lake. The dam can be reached quickly, several other restaurants, passenger boats, pedal boat rentals are nearby. (2) Staff and Service Very well. Everyone was always very friendly. (3 Rooms Sufficient. Room in the old part of the building. There are cables hanging from the ceiling. Partly open floor. Shower stylish, when in use you put the bathroom part under water. Only 3 hooks for towels, no shelves in the shower. No way to hang up a wet jacket. The black pipes in the room are also stylish, but also dirty when you wipe them. Toilet small and awful. The room was directly connected to the stairwell, it wasn't loud, but quiet is different. (4) Hotel Good. Very nice sky pool, water temperature good, window of the sky pool could be cleaned. Free bathrobes, slippers, towels, water. Sufficient parking spaces available, but only on gravel. (5) Breakfast. Satisfying. There was an extensive selection of rolls and bread, but everything was very sticky. Offered were: several types of ham and salamai, selection of cheeses, scrambled eggs (standard) The following were not offered: beer sausage, Nutella, mixed obsalate, fresh scrambled eggs or fresh omelets. I thought the breakfast was good, my wife thought it was terrible. (5) Price / performance ratio Very bad. At 229 € / night, the offer is far too expensive. We know a large number of hotels between 150 € and 200 € that offer more. Unfortunately, breakfast couldn't save it. (6) Others Poorly. From our room we could see that a large number of rooms currently have to be renovated and cannot be offered. Looking for parking spaces for motorbikes, we were at the back of the hotel. There are no parking spaces there, as there is a large number of building materials. In addition, there has been a large truck trailer and a boat trailer that are rusting away there for years. Not nice. (7) Conclusion The price / performance ratio would currently prevent us from visiting again.

The location by the lake is nice enough, the‚‘lake view‘ they advertise is actually a car park and a road and then the lake in the background. Only from the roof spa do you have quite a nice view. The pool is big enough to actually swim which was a plus. We booked the most expensive loft room at 299€ per night. You would expect that at a price this high the quality of service and care for you as guests is equally high, but we were disappointed. We were not told beforehand about building work in the hotel in the five days of our stay, so we were very unhappy with the noisy drilling which went on all day every day. No peace and quiet and unfortunately no apology or recompense. The room was nice to look at but very impractical. Very complicated light switches, no privacy in the bathroom, the toilet is hidden behind a bookshelf… If you want to spend this much money on a short holiday, you should go somewhere else.
