MEININGER Hotel Hamburg City Center

Absolutely would not recommend staying at Meininger Hotel Hamburg. My flight was cancelled due to a strike at Hamburg Airport, and I informed the hotel a full day in advance. Despite my efforts, the staff showed a complete lack of empathy and refused to work with me. They wouldn't even consider postponing my reservation. Instead, they cancelled my booking altogether through the app (knowing I wouldn't be there) - a tactic that left me worse during a stressful situation. If you encounter unexpected travel disruptions, expect little to no understanding or flexibility from this hotel.

We travel regularly all over the world and it is really challenging to find a comfortable place to stay for 5 people. This hotel has it figured out. Cleaning rooms, friendly staff, game room for kids, play area with books, quiet neighborhood close to S Bahn. We can highly recommend.

As much comfort as needed for this affordable price. Big spacious rooms for 2 adults + 2 teenagers. Comfortable beds. Doors in the hallway could have a stopper to not make so much noise when it closes. Elevator takes a long time to use... but we stayed during Easter weekend so it was quite busy. Very family friendly; especially young children. Perfect breakfast items with a good variety for everyone

The rooms are decent, the service overall ok. I’m leaving a 1 because I had to deal with Samantha, Chiara miserable attitudes. Pleas educate these two or hire competent people, they behave with customers in very incorrect ways. Two other people I met during my stay also complained about them.

We stayed at the hotel at the end of July 2022. We had a room on the 6th floor so we had a very nice view over the city. Our family room was a bit 'hostel-style' but spacious as we were only four people and the room could accommodate eight persons. It was clean and toilet and bathroom were separated, which is always convenient. The hotel was quiet and no street noise was audible in our room. Friendly staff. Ideas for improvements: it was hot during our stay so airco would have been great. Also, the curtains were not darkening the room at all, so we woke up early. Metro station Altona is close-by (and there's a great supermarket on the way from the hotel to the station) but a bit run-down and dirty.

We stayed here for four days. The hotel is so good for the price and its in a very good area. There also is a bar included in the hotel and you can easily go to the train station. The breakfast is basic but good and there are a lot of services for people with gluten intolerance and stuff.

There really is a Meininger spirit it seems. Have been to a Meininger Hotel in Amsterdam and found the same level of quality and fun spirit in the one in Hamburg. I like that it is a very inclusive environment, crowd- and generation-wise. The large and colourful room suited perfectly our family, and the common areas were filled with activities for all ages. Private parking was a must for us as we were in transit with all our luggage.

As a hotel, it is VFM. I was there for 4 nights and my stay was nice. I liked the room decoration, as it was something out of the ordinary. The room was clean, and the breakfast, even though it didn't offer cooked food, it had a lot of variety and worth its money. In addition, it has a public kitchen, where you can cook your own food. The hotel staff was very kind and fun to hang out with. Also, very helpful regarding the places to visit and the the public transportation options. The hotel is located near the railway station of Altona, which is great as you have easy access to public transportation. All in all, I enjoyed my stay there and, if I visit Hamburg again, I would like to stay there again.

Das Meininger Hotel verfügt über sehr schöne und saubere Mehrbettzimmer mit Heizung bzw. auch Ventilator und Flachbild-TV. An der Sauberkeit der sanitären Anlagen gab es nichts zu meckern. Es war alles sehr sauber. Pflegeprodukte wie z. B. Duschgel waren auch vorhanden. Das Bett war sehr sauber und bequem. Handtücher gab es sogar ohne jeden weiteren Aufpreis. Die Zimmer können nur mit einer Schlüsselkarte betreten werden und sind sehr sicher. Das Personal war sehr nett und freundlich sowie hilfsbereit; spricht auch mehrere Sprachen. Das Frühstück war reichhaltig und sehr lecker. Sehr schöner und sauberer Frühstücksraum. Sehr schöner und sauberer Aufenthaltsraum. Verschiedene Gesellschaftsspiele z. B. Tischfussball waren auch vorhanden. Es gab auch eine Selbstversorgerküche. 24 Stunden Rezeption. Kreditkartenzahlung war auch möglich. Zu den Annehmlichkeiten dieses Hotels gehört auch ein Fahrstuhl, kostenpflichtige Gepäckaufbewahrungsschränke sowie auch eine kostenpflichtige Tiefgarage. Das Haus ist behindertengerecht eingerichtet. Ebenso der Eingang zum Hotel ist eben gestaltet und somit für Rollstuhlfahrer geeignet. Das Hotel verfügt auch über eine Bar, welche rund um die Uhr (24 Stunden) Getränke aller Art ausschenkt. Von verschiedenen Kaffee-Sorten über Softdrinks aller Art bis zu alkoholischen Getränken kann man alles haben. Im Vorraum des Hotels gibt es auch einen Süssigkeiten/Getränkeautomaten sowie auch einen Kühlschrank für verschiedene Eis-Sorten. Echt super! In der Nähe des Hotels befinden sich einige Supermärkte wie Rewe und Lidl. Ausserdem ist der Busbahnhof sowie auch die S- und U-Bahn um die Ecke zu Fuß erreichbar. Fernstreckenanschluss ist auch in unmittelbarer Nähe zum Hotel. Sehenswürdigkeiten, Innenstadt und Altstadt, Museen, Kirchen usw. können nicht zu Fuß vom Hotel erreicht werden. Um die Ecke vom Hotel gibt es aber den Busbahnhof, S- und U-Bahn. Ich habe in diesem Hotel bereits desöfteren übernachtet und kann das Meininger Hotel wärmstens empfehlen. Eine günstige Alternative zu teuren Hotels. Würde dort wieder übernachten, sofern ich mich in Hamburg aufhalte. Sehr empfehlenswert!
