그로스몬트 하우스 B&B

20th October: I left a review on Google and because it was so good, I'll leave one on here too. As soon as we walked through the door my partner and I knew we found the right place. The village of Grosmont, although small in stature, it is huge in character. One thing is for certain, they love their steam trains over that way and I do believe it is home to the famous Flying Scotsman. Plenty of walks are available, its a shame we didn't get to do many but it makes for a great reason to go back. As for the B & B itself, it has stunning interior the moment you walk through the door and you cant help but notice how warm and inviting the place really is. To top it off we were greeted by the lovely Selma, hostess to this charming House who welcomes you with warm smile as soon as you're inside. My partner and I rented a small room for 3 nights tgat was called High Burrows and it had everything that we needed to make our stay comfortable. If you ever needed anything Selma would always be on hand with a smile and wouldnt hesitate to help with whatever you needed. I say we'll be back for the walks, but the truth is, I'd just go back so I could have some more of those mushrooms that are on the breakfast menu. Can't wait to go again, Jonny & Yvonne.

What a beautiful place to stay. We stayed in the Periwinkle Room, which looks over the North York Moors Railway, which is ideal for those who love the nostalgia of a steam train. Our room was spotless and tastefully decorated with some lovely period features. There is a guest fridge with fresh milk available for teas and coffees. The communal breakfast room was a gorgeous, beautiful way to start the day. Our host Selma was an absolute delight. What a renaissance woman. Not just running the B&B but making her own bread (worth going back just for that tbh) and marmalade as well as doing the garden. Breakfast was pre-order, which was fine for us. Locally sourced ingredients, well cooked. The grounds are lovely with an outdoor seating area. What a thoroughly enjoyable stay.

Quiet and quaint Loved the B&B, owners were friendly, rooms clean and it is such a quaint setting. Stone throw away from train station. Food was lovely. Set in a small village so it’s quiet. It is quite hilly so be aware if you have mobility issues.

What a lovely place. My wife and I were walking the Coast to Coast and Grosmont House was the perfect last night stop. Yards from the C-2-C and just around the corner from the pub. Selma was warm and welcoming and our room was spotless. A special mention for the breakfast - it was fantastic. All in all, a lovely place to stay.

Fantastic stay at Grosmont House We were very impressed with our stay. Selma was the PERFECT HOST. The welcome was perfect, when we found it! Good parking on site. The bedroom, although smallish, was very clean & the purpose. The bathroom was great with fantastic shower. All GREAT NO PROBLEMS CREDIT TO ALL

Great for a few days exploring moors and Whitby It took us 2 goes to spot the lane leading up to the property but there was space to park even though a few others were there. The property is beautifully appointed and we were greeted on arrival even though we were before 4pm. Lovely quiet location even though near the rail line with steam trains. Well appointed room and modern shower room. Good choice for breakfast Pity about the foggy weather on the moors but a lovely few days
