Don’t be put off by the tired decor in reception and corridors or the leaking skylights in the halls as the rooms are spotless and I had the comfiest hotel bed I’ve ever had. There’s a free gym and pool. There’s a lovely Indian restaurant a 10 minute walk away - the hotel staff are lovely and there’s a large car park

This was the first time we had visited this hotel. The location is lovely and the view from our room (No.12) was stunning, but sadly it was very very tired and shabby. Our room was dated and tacky no attention to detail. the rest of the hotel was the same,torn seats in the bar area, old, sticky dining tables, nothing seemed clean. The staff were very pleasant and efficient, the food was just about ok.This hotel needs some serious money spending on it, we would not visit again or recommend it.Such a shame as it is in a great location to visit places.

We decided to have a night away from work , so decided to give The Manor a go again as last time it was looking a tad tired . Wow they’ve Certainly upped their game . Charlotte once again was up front to greet us , we had a lovely swim and jacuzzi and soon felt relaxed and rested . Off upstairs to our lovely room featuring a four poster bed over looking the beautiful town of Crickhowell . We dined with them in the evening and had a wonderful meal each . Great service lovely facilities , we’ll be back . Da iawn

Overall a disappointing experience. Great location with lovely views, friendly staff and comfortable bed - but the dining offer was very mixed with some food frankly inedible, no excuse for the stained carpet in our room which was not vacuumed in several days, a faulty shower and erratic replacement of towels and soap, and dining tables with sticky surfaces (even the cutlery stuck fast!) when fresh linen tablecloths ought to have been the professional solution to this difficulty. All these things add up to make a less than pleasing stay. The hotel needs to up its game as it is expensive by comparison with others for this standard of service. Sadly I couldn’t recommend it as it stands.

Attended the hotel in June for a wedding. Was able to check in early, which was a bonus. The receptionist was welcoming. Our room was lovely and big with a great view of the surrounding area and mountains. That's about where the positives end. Bar service was slow. Knowing that there was a wedding, you'd think there would have been more serving staff. Breakfast was appalling. Waiting round for 15 minutes for eggs to cook, then only bring 6, no sausages, and bacon that looked like it had been cooked on a radiator! For the number of people staying, you'd think the food would have been in abundance. Restaurant tables were dirty with sticky tables and dirty cutlery. Waitress would take plates off the table and not wipe them down. The outside tables still had empty glasses from the night before on them with the floor covered in previous night rubbish. The hotel is in a nice area but is so run down. Could do with a full revamp. Carpet's dirty. Our feet were black after walking around in the Beacon Room. For the price of the rooms and drinks I would expect more. Wouldn't stay again

Starting with the good - the views across the valley are glorious, and the food was pretty good, but that was it. We had booked a Superior room, which was anything but. The four poster bed and vintage armchairs were nice touches, but the rest of the furniture was white and cheap; probably from Ikea. The bathroom was even worse. Bits of trim missing, a shelf hanging off the wall, & sealant smeared across the toilet pipework; the shower was plumbed in backwards with cold=hot and hot=cold. Considering that the hot water is scalding this was downright dangerous. It would be nice to say that the service made up for it, but it didn’t. Bored indifference is probably the best desciption, with some staff giving the impression that we were a nuisance for choosing to stay there. There must be better in the area, particularly for the cost of a ‘Superior’ room, so choose elsewhere.
