The room was clean. There was no water, tissues or mini-bar. Parking is extremelt difficult. We had to park illegally. No restaurant in or nearby. Receptionist did not speak english.

exceeded expectations! best location and walkable... plus the room renovation was superb and modern. Highly recommend this hotel

Hotel Asturias is very well located, close to the beach and to restaurants.

My 3rd. visit to this hotel was very disappointing. Previously I had spacious, though dated, rooms in keeping with the elegance of the building. This time, however I was faced with dark, narrow, badly lit corridors to the room. The room was not very large and furnished with MDF furniture that was of the Ibis type (2Star) with no drawers and minimal wardrobe space covered by only one door. The bathroom had a jacuzzi bath but the sealant was discoloured and incomplete with a shower screen that did not seal, so water escaped to the floor. The water pressure was not very high for the shower and the hand basin was cracked. The A/C was controlled from reception and not the room. It was eventually set at 23 and could not be turned off. The hotel had a discounted car park some distance away beyond the yachting harbour which I didn't use. I used the one on the Prom. that had deals with other hotels but not the Asturias. The maximum non-discounted rate was €24 for 24 hours which was worth it for the convenience. An extra chair was provided in the room but there was not enough room for it. My previous stays were booked directly with the hotel by phone, I don't know if that made any difference to the case, but I would not recommend this hotel for anyone but the desperate.

Classic city centre Hotel in the Old Quarter of Gigón. Atmospheric period building which has been refurbished inside. Very friendly and helpful reception.

Location is fantastic and the room is clean. We were assigned a “modern room” because of the pet as opposed of the one we booked - no issue with that. I had issue with the rotten chair. The upholstery was all damaged and the night stand was broken. I mentioned to the receptionist at check out and clearly it’s something they don’t care about. I was on a road trip and booked several hotels from 3 to 5 stars… and assumed this was a 3… but they declare themselves as 4… and it’s just not the standard. We stayed in 3 stars hotel much better than Austrias. I was not expecting fancy. I was expecting clean and nice… but I can’t get over the damaged chair and broken night stand.

Hotel Asturias is situated in a perfect spot in Gijón, it’s right in the midst of everything. Our room was lovely with a balcony overlooking the square. We’d highly recommend this hotel.
