This isn't a destination for people looking for a luxury holiday. However, as campsites go, this is one of the nicest small sites I've been to. We stayed in one of their top range of caravans, which was basically a no frills 3 bedroom caravan with wooden decking. It met our needs exactly. The beds came with cotton sheets, one pillow and one blanket each. This was plenty as it wasn't cold. There is no oven in the caravan. There is a gas hob, a microwave and a fridge freezer. There's no kettle, but we improvised with a saucepan on the hob. There is a Nespresso machine in the caravan. The rooms were basic, and clean and tidy. You NEED to like cats to stay on this park. They are everywhere, and timid but friendly. They will beg outside your caravan if they think they're in with a chance of a snack. We found them to be a charming and unexpected bonus. The campsite is right on the beach, which has direct gate access and two cold water showers for cleaning off after being in the sea. It was a bit too chilly to sea swim in April, but there were some die hards giving it a go. The beach is large, sandy and stretches for miles. The noise from the airport didn't spoil our stay at all but you can hear and see the planes flying in and out. The campsite is one stop on the L71 bus from terminal 1 at the airport. Then a 10 minute walk from the bus stop to reception. Very easy once you know the way. There is also a bus to Barcelona city centre which gets ridiculously busy. It's cheap (€2.55 each way) but be prepared to have to stand for the whole journey which us close to an hour long. The buses run regularly. The restaurant at the campsite was excellent and the staff were all extremely polite and helpful. The prices were very good for the enormous meals that they served. There is Lso a dedicated bbq area with picnic tables, if you want to do your own bbq. The shop is a typical campsite shop. It had all the basics that we needed. The prices were fine too. There is an easy to use launderette next to the shop. Reception staff are welcoming and helpful. I popped into the toilet/shower blocks to take a look and they were large and very clean. The pot wash area was clean and also featured a coin operated dishwasher. The swimming pool only opens in the summer months, so I can't comment on that ,sadly. It's raised, so I couldn't even look at it. There is an outdoor gym, tennis court, football court and basketball court. There is a very small children's climbing frame. There's lots of outdoor seating but also midges that will eat you alive, as we sadly found out one night. The nearest village along the coast is 40 mins walk away. It had a small parade of local shops, bars, cafes and a highly recommended cake shop. I will definitely return to Camping Tres Estrellas. It is a lovely peaceful campsite (in April).
