Auberge de La Gaichel

Set in an idyllic surrounding, the Inn is lovely during the day and quiet at night. It is unfortunately not accessible for people with disabilities or physical limits. Stairs everywhere, no ramps of any kind either at the Inn or to access the restaurants. The service when you check in is friendly but there is no assistance to take luggage upstairs and parking is either across the street or in the back which forces you to take extra stairs or go uphill around the Inn.

This is a nice old-fashioned hotel in Luxembourg / Belgium boarders. Beautiful surroundings, great decoration inside and very comfortable rooms. Don't expect a modern facility. It's more as if you travel back in time. There is a massive garden as well, which I suppose during summer it will be amazing. The restaurant has some good selections, although a bit pricey and the breakfast was delicious with many options. Free parking as well.

We had booked this hotel well in advance and arrived mid afternoon. We had traveled on the motorway to this hotel up a country road, with nothing else around. On arrival we were informed there was no chef working that evening and we would have to travel to a restaurant. If you enjoy a glass of wine not ideal. When we asked why we weren’t informed, we were told they had sent an email - they had while we were on the motorway that morning! They directed us to another hotel which was excellent

Het is een geweldig mooi hotel, maar er is ook een mooie auberge. In beide gelegenheden kun je goed overnachten en lekker eten. In de ochtend een prima ontbijt. De kamers zijn goed en de prijs van de Auberge is zeer gunstig ! Uitermate vriendelijk personeel. Zowel het luxere Hotel als de gezellige Auberge liggen bij elkaar in een prachtige bosrijke omgeving. Er heerst rust. De ligging is net even over de Belgische grens op Luxemburgs grondgebied. De stad Arlon ligt op 20 minuten rijden. Een tankstation met een ruime winkel ligt verscholen op 300 meter afstand van het hotel. De afstand naar de stad Luxemberg zal zijn 25 km. Ruime parkeerplaatsen aanwezig.

J'ai passé une nuit dans cet hôtel. L'escalier d'accès à l’étage est un peu étroit. La chambre est bien équipée. La literie est vraiment de qualité. Malgré qu'elle donne sur la route, je n'ai entendu aucun bruit dans la nuit. Le petit déjeuné est bien achalandé et le personnel sympathique et compétent.

Un groupe de onze durant quatre nuits en 1/2 pension et nous avons été gâtés! A part la pièce d'eau un peu étriquée, tout fût parfait. Très propre, petit déjeuner et repas succulents; le personnel est très attentionné. Très calme durant la nuit.
