Stay at Penny's Mill

During the bank holiday weekend, I had the pleasure of visiting Penny's Mill with my two-year-old son. From the moment we arrived, Bill and Rosie, our gracious hosts, made us feel right at home. Their warmth and knowledge about the local area was immensely helpful, ensuring that we could make the most of our stay. Rosie’s breakfasts were a highlight of our mornings. Each day, we were treated to a delicious spread, featuring homemade bread and jams, a delightful touch that made the meals feel extra special. Penny’s Mill itself is situated in the stunning village of Nunney, which is full of character and beauty. The tranquil setting by the stream provided a peaceful backdrop that made our stay incredibly restful, despite our action-packed agenda. Exploring the village and its surroundings was a joy, revealing hidden gems and picturesque scenes at every turn. Despite our busy schedule, we left feeling rejuvenated, thanks in no small part to the serene environment and the comfort of Penny's Mill. I highly recommend a stay at Penny’s Mill for anyone visiting the area. It is a place that offers more than just accommodation; it provides a genuine escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Firstly Nunney is a beautiful village, my wife and i walked around and all the local people we spoke to were so charming, a father and son were walking down the stream in there wellies, this was proper village life. We arrived at Penny`s Mill to be greeted by Bill and Rosie, a nicer couple you could not wise to meet, beautiful gardens and allotments, this was a fine place for sure. We stayed in Polly`s room which came with a private living room on the same floor which had a huge window with views of the garden. The bedding was quality through and through, good bathroom as well, the room and house were done out in a style we loved, not ultra modern but in a style which was classy in our eyes. First you can tell straight away Rosie was a chef earlier in her life, full cooked breakfast, piping hot and cooked to perfection with quality ingredients. homemade breads, marmalade, jams etc, also choices of what you wanted for breakfast. After our stay you could tell this was Bill and Rosie`s "baby", they clearly take pride in there place, nothing was too much trouble for them, there main objective was that you as a guest had a wonderful time, places of this quality are a dying breed where the guests are paramount. Visit and you will walk away thinking that`s how it should be done. Also we booked directly with the owners which was soooo much easier than doing it online as they give you advice on your stay directly. We will return for sure.
