호텔 산토 도밍고 데 실로스(Hotel Santo Domingo de Silos)

I stayed here for one night as a base to visit Sad Hill. The hotel is very picturesque, clearly well maintained, cleanly and the room I had was perfectly adequate with a good sized bathroom, comfortable bed and TV. I used the free parking 5 minutes away as opposed to paying the on site fee. There is a bar and restaurant on site and a small shop for provisions. The hotel is very central and some good walking around the historic area can be had. Note, English is not spoken at this hotel but I managed to muddle through with my very broken Spanish and the use of Google translate. If I was in the area I would 100% stay here again.

We visited the hotel on a trip to Sad Hill, which is only 3 km away. Very kind staff - but they spoke no English at all. The hotel is considerably bigger than it appears from the outside. Dinner in the restaurant was good. Breakfast quite simple, but ok.

We enjoyed our three night stay in this very well run family hotel. Everyone was very friendly, even though we don't speak much Spanish, and they really wanted to make our stay pleasant. The food in the dining room was home-style cooking, freshly prepared and very tasty and the breakfast was the best value we have seen for a long time. There is good undercover parking in a garage which keeps cars cool. We thoroughly recommend this hotel.

The room itself was spacious but because we had a street level room, we had to keep the curtains closet to have a sense of privacy, so that gave to room a claustrophobic feel. Thankfully, we only stayed one night. Breakfast was well stocked and varied.

When you drive in , you essentially have to back out into the main street because it is almost impossible to drive out the other direction. Even the hotel employee told me not to try. You have to pay 7.70 euros to gain access to the underground parking, You have to drive extremely slow and careful as the driveway is very narrow. My room is very small. I used the second bed to place my suitcase and carry on. I have no other space. If you want breakfast, you have to pay 5 euros. I was very lucky to check in when I did. Later on in the afternoon, I noticed the receptionist was gone. It was siesta time. You will be dead in the water until the guy shows up It took awhile for the hot water to show up. I thought I was going to have a lukewarm shower but eventually it got hot. The AC works great and it is quiet. The dinner/service within the hotel ******. The food was edible and almost tasteless. The server was fairly rude but I guess that is normal in Spain.

Nice hotel, superb food and great location but let down slightly by shabby shower room fittings. The room I stayed in the shower couldnt stay on the wall wih the water on so a shower was almost impossible, shame cause it's an easy cheap fix.

We only spent 3 nights in this hotel. The owner Carlos was very friendly, very helpful as was the rest of the staff. The hotel has appartements and a swimmingpool and is situated almost opposite the monastery. It is probably the nicest place (village and hotel) we have been to in the last couple of years. Your 4feeted friends are welcome!

Room was OK, felt like it was a store room for various bits of furniture as opposed to a well thought out room. The bathroom was fine, but the door didn't fit and scraped along the floor. I was in 168. next to reception, so you had the constant screech from the sliding doors all day and late into the evening. Don't stay in that room! The pool was small, busy, but fine. I parked my bike in the underground car park. 8 Euros, I could have just left it outside the front door though as some other guests parked their cars there just fine. One poor chap seemed to be doing all the work. On reception checking in and out, then directing staff, then helping me with parking. Sad Hill cemetery is about 2 miles from the village . I saw at least another 2 hotels and will be trying those in the future.

Perfect place - great room, wonderful restaurant, building is amazingly beautiful.
