The location of the hotel was perfect - very central. There was a mix up with Secret Escape and we were given a classic room instead of a superior room with water view. So that was disappointing , but not the fault of the hotel. The Classic room was adequate - loads of storage - the most I have seen in any hotel. The bathroom was very big as well with lots of drawers to put away toiletries. The two receptionists who were on duty during our stay were both amazing - very pleasant and helpful. We had dinner at the restaurant on the first evening - the food was very good, but only one server for the 7 tables of diners. But he coped well considering.

What a great find, the Old Quay House Hotel in Fowey is an absolute delight, great rooms, stunning location, great food and a master-class in customer service, not to mention a free room upgrade! The restaurant and terrace open straight onto the water and delivered a great backdrop while enjoying a gorgeous breakfast. I understand that the rooms are also receiving a refurb, so on the verge of being even better. Finally, I must also mention the crab risotto with lobster bisque - wow, just wow! Also had a fun night at the Ship Inn listening to a local band!

Having stayed at the Old Quay House ten years ago, we looked forward to our four night stay in this spectacular location. Apparently the place has been bought in the last couple of years by a Hotel chain. It was disappointing to find the significant lowering of the fabric of the property which is clearly been neglected for years. The inconsistency of quality of staff didn't help (some were really good, but that didn't make up for the others who appeared to be too tired to bother). The breakfast options need to be brought up to today's expectations of healthy options. The porridge was like a watery ready break version - ugh!! The wine ran out three consecutive evenings and only a doubly priced alternative was on offer and even that ran out - we are not heavy drinkers! Staffing presence was inconsistent, sometimes it was difficult to find any one on duty. Noisy renovation work disturbed from early morning and no offer of a reduction in charges - which might have at least ameliorated the situation. It was over priced for what was on offer. Sad to say, I'm doubtful that we would choose this place again. But Fowey is a lovely location.

I stayed here for 3 nights early November and it was just lovely! It’s right in the centre of fowey in a perfect spot, with amazing views from the back on the terrace. The breakfast in the morning was great and the service from the hotel was very good. My room was nice and pretty spacious though I’d booked the most standard room. Would definitely recommend to anyone wanting a stay in Fowey!

This is quaint old building halfway along the main street of Fowey between Town and Albert quays to stop a car to unload/load stops traffic there in no arranged parking so half to park at the car park half mile further on which is nearly always full or the main car park at the entrance to the town there is a minibus from there into the tow there are rooms with harbour views and the restaurant has a harbour view and there is an outside area if the weather is permitting limited choice in the restaurant but all nicely prepared I’d give the food 8/10 the staff are helpful and friendly

The hotel is in prime location with pleasant setting and friendly staff. Breakfast could do with a lot more variety.
