Made a reservation at Brekke apartments with ***********. the payment was charged to our credit card ahead of time. On the day of arrival, we informed the automated messaging system that we would be arriving around 9-10 pm based on our travel time. terrible and unprofessional experience at check-in- We received the automated instructions from the Brekke apartment reception. When we arrived at 10.05 pm at Brekke apartment, there was a guest list with our name written on it. The apartment allotted to us was a “ hillside house-basement apartment” with no house number, no directions and no contact number to get there. There were approximately 8-10 houses around the reception area all with house numbers. We looked at each to determine which one was allotted to us. Finally, at 10.40 pm, we went to the hostel and knocked on one door to find out if anyone could help us find the place or at least a number to call. A lovely couple ( guests staying in the hostel) helped us with a phone number to call on, and when we called, two ladies came out to help us from another house. They drove the van and asked us to follow them. We travelled on the road quite some distance from the reception to locate our allotted apartment. Once there, we thanked them for helping us. (10.50 pm) The actual accommodation was far from the property address on ***********. We reached the exact address as per on *********** ( check the location of brekke apartment on Google map and the location of the apartment allotted to us -indicated by blue dot). We also were confused as to how we were to find our apartment. Hence we asked those two ladies if the norm is for the guests to figure out a way by themselves. The lady told us the receptionist should have given us detailed instructions with pictures. We told her we did not receive any pictures. After this, we entered the apartment; we expected to see three beds available since we had paid for three guests. Instead, there were two beds and a sofa bed ( which was not prepared to sleep on). For two beds, the bedsheets and linen were just laid out on the bed as if in a hostel. We had to request linen and towel for the third guest. Isn’t it normal for hotels to arrange based on the number of people since they charge accordingly? We were unhappy & disappointed with the reception and check-in process, and rightfully so. At this point, we expressed our disappointment and wished to escalate this matter to authorities- such as the owner or *********** One lady claimed she was the owner and was upset with her receptionist. The Lady boss claimed that she would fire the receptionist. On this point, we explained to her our reasons for disappointment, which were fair. Her attitude appeared callous to our situation; she spoke in a rude tone and called us rude, which was uncalled for, knowing that we had been out in the 10 degrees Celsius temperature, raining weather, looking for our apartment for 45 mins because of lapses of her staff.
