Difficult to believe we stayed in the same place as other reviewers. Stayed one night whilst visiting friends in the area. Welcome, around 4pm, was anything but warm. We spent 10 mins in a completely empty bar. A gentleman appeared having "just nipped to the loo" took our name, looked us up, said £70 please! Showed us to our room without offering help with any of the 3 pieces of luggage we were carrying. Room was cold, no bedside tables. Nothing but bed, small wardrobe, table filled with kettle coffee machine radio etc and a small low table on which we could put one of our cases. Nowhere to put anything. We later discovered there were no mugs or teaspoons and only 1 teabag! This was at 9:45pm, and no-one around to ask. There is a small fridge, and a TV but only 2 power sockets, and none near the bed. The room did seem clean, but half empty shower gel and shampoo bottles left in the shower tray made us wonder. Bed was clean and comfortable. Whole place was in darkness when we returned from friends at 9:45pm, and deserted when we left. We opted for breakfast with our friends.

New management team since March 2024 so any reviews prior to that will not be relevant. We booked 3 rooms and I have to say the customer service was second to none - nothing was too much trouble. We had breakfast and evening meal and both were cooked fresh and very good. They were also very accommodating of dietary requirements which makes for such a nice stay when you have these issues. We travelled into Chester the next day and the team were super helpful with travel suggestions which made it a very easy and stress free trip. The only thing that could have been better was the water pressure in my shower however the others in our group were more than happy with theirs. Would definitely stay again.

Stayed here over the weekend as attending a wedding nearby and enjoyed everything from start to finish. Easy check-in, the room was spacious with a powerful hairdryer, mini fridge, tea, coffee ect and bathroom was a good size with plenty of hot water and lots of amenities, beds were so comfy and everywhere was spotless, we had a lovely view of the village. Breakfast was so tasty, everything cooked perfectly and a small traditional was quite large and very filling. If that was your son staffing the dining room this morning he is a credit to you both, he was so polite and professional. Kenny, Cath EVERY member of the team were fabulous and went above and beyond. We had a problem with a taxi co. it was instantly sorted out, thank you. Well done on making The George and Dragon and lovely place to visit Most definitely would recommend even if just popping in for a drink.

A brilliant place to stay Host and staff cant do enough for you,dinner was very good a huge gammon steak and all the trimmings, Breakfast was very good and more than enough to set you up for the day. The room was just the right size very nicely decorated with all the things you need ,well worth a visit cant wait till we go again

A lovely friendly pub and bed and breakfast with comfortable facilities in a period building. Great hosts and a really positive stay The village itself has some lovely places to eat and drink as well as visiting some childhood landmarks Highly recommended for a quiet and local pub

We had our flyball club Chris**as meal here on 6th December 2023. Fifteen of us enjoyed a lovely, relaxed meal with good sized portions and great service from friendly staff. We pre-ordered our food (as there were 15 of us) from the Chris**as menu and without exception everyone thoroughly enjoyed their food. The meals arrived together and the food was hot and fresh. Thank you to Kenny and Kath and their family who have worked tirelessly to turn this pub into a lovely venue and deserve much credit. It is a real asset to the village and is very popular.
