Checked in on 12/06/25 with a group of 9 across 5 rooms. We chose Hotel Les Grains D’argent based on good reviews, but unfortunately, our experience didn’t live up to them. We arrived early evening and were initially impressed by the exterior and surroundings. However, things went downhill quickly. There was no luggage assistance not even an offer to help and I had to request a trolley to move our bags ourselves. The manager, Xavier, provided the trolley, but that was the extent of the service. The rooms are average at best definitely smaller and less equipped than a standard UK Premier Inn or Travelodge. There’s a sign threatening a €20 charge if you take the hand soap, which sets an odd tone. The bathroom was very basic and showed signs of wear, with missing grout in the shower. No safe, no mini bar, and towels were too small to be practical. To make matters worse, the in room phone didn’t work. When I went to reception to request an iron, the staff member at the front desk was shockingly rude and dismissive. He said the hotel only had one iron, and he didn’t know where it was — making no effort to assist further. Later, we asked to have drinks and were inexplicably told we couldn’t sit at the bar, despite it not being busy. Instead, we were directed to a table near the front door, which made little sense. All in all, this hotel is extremely basic and lacks any real hospitality or customer care. It might look promising at first, but don’t be misled. There’s nothing special about the rooms, the amenities are poor, and the attitude from staff especially management is unacceptable. Bottom line: It’s simply not worth the money. If you’re considering staying here, I strongly recommend looking elsewhere.
