빌라 포세이돈

When we first arrived, Sakellarios greeted us at the bar and had cooked us some spaghetti bolognese which was a lovely greeting. We were shown to the family room and Sakellarios went through some standard rules - not to flush toilet paper etc. After looking around, we noticed there was an air con unit in the kitchen but no remote. We asked for the remote and were informed that it wasn't good to use it and that it was cool at night in the mountains so we wouldn't need it but, we should come to the bar later to collect it. We also needed some bin liners, bowls, a tea towel, an extra pillow and a sharp knife. All were provided except the bowls (he said he'd ask Maria but they never showed up) and the pillow (we were told no spares were kept on the property) - okay, no big deal. Later that night we went down to the bar to collect the remote, which we weren't given. Again. So, we tried a different tactic, we left a note for Maria but weren't given it. Again. It wasn't an issue initially as Sakellarios was right, it was cooler in the mountains but by the 3rd night I was starting to get uncomfortable and had some sunburn and wanted some cooler air. I went down to the bar and Sakellarios finally provided the remote, along with the same talk about it not being good to use and not needed at night, especially if we had the doors open. The problem with having the doors open was that there were a lot of flies and mosquitoes under the olive tree outside the bedroom and without a mosquito net (which is advertised as being provided in the family room on Villa Poseidon's website as of 18th June 2017), the sensible option was to use the air con (advertised on the website as being individually controlled and free of charge). Of note, we would have been prepared to pay for the air con to avoid all the hassle and this is common in other Greek accommodation. The shower curtain was also too short which meant after you'd had a shower, there was water over a third of the bathroom floor. We left the small bathroom window open as long as possible to let the water evaporate but had to close the windows at night to stop the mossies getting in. So, most of the water evaporated into the room itself making it hotter, which is another reason why we wanted to use the air con. On arrival, I fancied a shower to cool down but the water was cold (9:30pm). I tried again in the morning and it was fine. I asked Maria if hot water access was intermittent but I was told the boiler operates all day and what I'd said 'was not possible'. The family room also didn't have wifi (as advertised on the website) but you could use it down by the pool. The sheets on the bed were clean but 2 of the blankets had some brown stains, fair enough you can't get everything clean. There was also no safe but we were able to lock the bedroom door and maybe crime was less of an issue in the north? The website also advertised toiletries, a daily maid service and linen change twice a week. In actual fact, we had

Disappointed... For sure not good value for money. The view and the courtyard are nice, but so many things are wrong. The kitchenette is a joke. No oven, no gas cooker, no microwave. We had only one glass of water on an apartment of 4 people. No soap, no wifi in the house, the bed sheets were ripped. The couches were improvized, they had no mattreses, but some sponge instead. Be prepared with cleaning products - 8 days and they only came once to clean and another time to throw the garbage. By the way, they used our shopping bags to put them in the bins. Actually, they entered the house many days in our absence to change the temperature in the fridge to consume less power - this is ridiculous. Ants everywere - on the table, in the beds, ... over-expensive prices at the bar - 5,5 euro for a draft beer Mythos, we tried a different tavern every day on the island and we did not encountered these prices. I think if you eat and drink at their place and you don't care about money you are their friends. Otherwise they make you pay somehow. They charged us 245 euro for a mosquito net that had broken during our stay.

Villa Poseidon is not a place for action, it is like a stay at your Mamas house. You have all the comfort you need, you are cared for, you are fed with perfect Greek food (a la Mama) and you don't have to worry about anything. Yes, there are some minor things, that are not perfect, like the bathroom situation (shower curtain too short so everything gets flooded, no space to place your toilet stuff, some pipe sticking out of the floor (prep. for heating?) and air-condition just on request for extra charge (which we didn't really need, because the stone houses keep perfectly good climate), but all in all you feel at home, you feel welcome and that's what matters most. In detail: the rooms (we had the small house in the back) could be improved a bit in respects of furniture f.e. our kitchen was packed with 2 couch-beds w.o. any decoration), kitchen is not fully equiped, but we anyhow we just ate downstairs at Sotirias. There is no coffee machine, but a water kettle, so you can get along with instant coffee. There is only a tiny cupboard in the bedroom. We stayed for two weeks and for that the storing options were too little. We used a bench and small sideboard in addition to the small cupboard, but it was a bit messy. It would be sufficient for shorter stays though. The bathroom was very little, but we managed it by using also the windowsill to store our stuff The house is super cute and there is a little terrace which is unobservable and cozy. Some flies and wasps but not too much. Shaded by a wonderful olive tree. W-lan is a bit of an issue inside the house due to the thick stone walls. Best signal is on the terrace or down at the pools area. The best stuff is the food. It is not only comfy to have dinner at your place, but it is usually better than what you can get outside (although outsides food is already delicious), because it is cooked with love. Sotiria and Sakilaris are two wonderful hosts, and they really make you feel at home. They always ask you about your plans (give good advises) and if you want to be back for dinner. They are really one of a kind and I miss them already.

“SCONSIGLIO VIVAMENTE” Il 16 marzo ho festeggiato il diciottesimo di mio figlio in questa struttura. Pur avendo pagato un mese prima, sono stato tentato di mandare tutto a monte quando, due giorni prima ricevo una mail del proprietario dove mi chiedeva un sovrapprezzo per aver aggiunto 13 persone, venendo meno agli accordi presi.L’evento pagato un mese prima lui dice: o sono 90 persone o 110 non cambia nulla. (Testuali parole) Non volendo rovinare il tanto atteso giorno ho subito l’ estorsione. Quando sono andato a saldare il “SIGNORE” era accompagnato dalla security chiamata da lui, evidentemente conscio del suo comportamento fraudolento si aspettava una reazione violenta da parte mia. I piatti che ha servito, indecenti, salumi di scarsa qualità, primo a base di pesce puzzolente che molti non hanno neanche assaggiato un rustico a base di ricotta già acidula e per chi aveva intolleranze alimentari piatti freddi. La sua soluzione? Non mangiano! Parcheggio inesistente. Le auto vanno parcheggiate su un tratto di strada pericoloso causando intralcio e pericolo per la circolazione. BRUTTISSIMA ESPERIENZA, MAI PIÙ NEANCHE DA INVITATO.

Abbiamo prenotato due notti in questa bellissima villa con la piscina, il bar e la possibilità di mangiare a cena a bordo piscina. Una villa gestita da una coppia favolosa, gentilissimi a soddisfare ogni richiesta, tutto quello che mangerete li è fatto da loro e oltre ad essere buonissimo, sono anche molto attenti ai prodotti che siano salutari, vi sentirete coccolati. Consiglio a tutti. Conoscerli è stata una vera fortuna per noi.

Nous avons adoré la Villa Poseidon pour son cadre et l'immense gentillesse de nos hôtes Sotiria et son mari. Attention néanmoins à quelques petits détails, à commencer par le fait que le lieu soit vraiment isolé. Il est donc indispensable d'avoir une voiture ou un moyen de locomotion Heureusement, Soteria et sa famille nous ont accompagné durant deux jours, et c'était vraiment super de leur part. Nous avons donc mangé sur place le soir, et c'était vraiment délicieux et très copieux. Mais deuxième petit avertissement : pensez à demander les prix, surtout celui des vins ! Dernier point, les logements sont charmants, mais les salles de bain vraiment rudimentaires ! Pour le reste, c'est vraiment super.
