We spent a couple days and had a great experience. The morning walking safari was a good way to see the landscape close up and one day we saw Sable antelopes. While you see less animals than on the evening drive learning about the trees and bushes as well as marking habits of the animals was a great balance to the less intimate evening drive. The walk was also a good way to start the day. We saw many animals in the evening including a massive herd of buffalo. Between the two drives we watched animals pass by the camp including a family of warthogs, and many zebras and elephants. The camp is lovely the common spaces are perfect for animals watching and sharing meals. The tents provided a perfect place to relax at the end of the day with comfortable beds and hot water bottles for the chilly nights. There was also a lovely deck for relaxing and watching the wildlife. Hearing the lions at night was an amazing experience. The food was very good and abundant. The early morning muffins before the walk hit the spot. Breakfast. tea and dinner were also very nice. Wesley and Orrence our guide and tracker made a great pair. William the chef and the rest of the staff made our stay memorable. We highly recommend Rhino Walking Safari as a way to really experience Kruger.

A true bucket-list experience – authentic, wild, and unforgettable We just got back from a few days with the Rhino Walking Safaris team, and we can confidently say this should be on everyone’s bucket list! If you love simplicity, nature, and the raw beauty of the bush, this experience is for you. Although there was a small hiccup with our airport transfer, the GM personally phoned us and immediately arranged alternative transport. Her care and professionalism were outstanding — she even helped have a prescription collected for me when I fell ill. The staff truly went the extra mile in every way. The bush itself was breathtaking. The animals certainly put on a show, and we saw sights we’ve only ever seen in documentaries. We always felt completely safe, thanks to our two incredible guides, James and January, whose knowledge of the bush and calm confidence made the walks unforgettable. The tented rooms were spotless and serviced more than once a day, the food was excellent — compliments to William the chef and his team — and every staff member contributed to a truly special experience. The lodge offers luxurious, well-maintained tented accommodation. The communal viewing deck is a definite highlight—overlooking vast plains that attracted abundant wildlife throughout the day. Watching nature unfold from that vantage point was truly special. A heartfelt thank you to our guide, Wesley, who went above and beyond by allowing us to use his personal WiFi to contact family during an emergency. With no connectivity at the lodge, his kindness made a real difference. Unfortunately, the walking safari experience didn’t meet expectations. Walks were short, repetitive, and often adjusted around the varying arrival and departure times of other guests. During our stay, our interest in tracking lions was overlooked in favor of other guests’ requests, without any communication or explanation. The meals were also fairly average, especially given the premium pricing. As someone who’s done several wildlife walking safaris, I found this offering underwhelming. It might be suitable for first-timers, but less so for those looking for depth, flexibility, or a more curated trail experience.

We spent 2 nights as the plains camp, one in the tented camp and one in the treehouse tent. Were we to do it again we would have spent 4 nights here. The off the grid, no cell and no wifi, remote location and intimate setting with 4-8 guests make this a really special opportunity to experience the wildlife. The tents were comfortable and although it was cold at night the hot water bladders kept us warm. The treehouse was really special as we heard hyena calls, elephant calls and many birds through the night. Do not expect much sleep but hearing the wildlife makes it so worth it. Our guide, Wesley, and our tracker, Orance, were amazing and taught us so much about the environment and animal behavior. Our approximate 3 hour bush walks featured a wide variety of animals, and we saw wild dogs driving to a bush walk location. Orance brought wonderful snacks and coffee on the walks. On the evening game drives we also so a wide array of animals including 7 white rhinos crossing the road. The hospitality and food were incredible. The staff so welcoming and nice, thank you Pepsi and Trinity. I require a gluten free diet and Chef Lindy was amazing, preparing GF crepes, pancakes, quiche, tasty desserts. I had every bit the culinary experience as the other guests. Great memories were made here with my son as we experienced a true off the beaten path and grid immersion.

Be close to the "great 5" while walking with experienced guides and trackers, incredible time! Then head back to a rustic camp and be pampered with great food and accomodation!
