An old, worn out, two story motel. Not a ”Lodge”. No hot tub, no pool, no fitness room, no sauna, no bar, no dining room, no food service, no fireplace. Basement floor is used as seasonal housing for staff, other workers and trades people. Guests are put on first and second floors. Stained fabric seats on chairs, leaking shower. Chipped table. Poor quality mattresses, old worn out sheets, worn out key pad on microwave (couldn't see the numbers), dried up crumbs of food in corners of room. Spilled grease on dresser. Small TV wouldn't work. Waited three days, but the requested technician never showed up to fix it. Noisy next to parking Lot #2. No elevator. No staff to assist with bags. No luggage carts. No concierge. Paper coffee cups were all that was available for all beverages, including coffee, water, beer, wine, or anything else. Front desk said supplies were sparse. Front desk staffed only at certain times, otherwise no one on staff available. A really sad effort by RCR! Although its close to the slopes, lifts and the small slope-side village, the claim of ”ski in, ski out” is misleading. Yes, one can ski right up to the ”lodge” at the end of the day (if snow is ample), BUT, its a 200+ meter, uphill hike to get to any lift. In addition, there is very little in the way of dining opportunities, shopping or supplies in the slope side village. In sum, if you are on a meager budget, looking for the cheapest slope-side place to stay, and are used to living in run down, poorly serviced, dormitory-frat house like conditions, then maybe this will be acceptable. But if you have the money and prefer a decent place, go elsewhere!! The Lizard Creek Lodge would be recommended.
