All I can say is WOW, WOW, WOW! The Bevin House is the real deal. A beautifully restored home full of vintage furniture, stunning window treatments, and more importantly a most welcoming innkeeper Amanda. Amanda made us a homemade breakfast on the porch where we were joined by the owner, Dean. Amanda and Dean sat with us, filling us in on some of the history of the inn and stories of the animals meandering around the property. Honestly, there were so many things that were extra special about the Bevin House I can’t begin to list them all. I will mention it is located close to nearby attractions, such as the Goodspeed Opera House, Gillette Castle and Park and several quaint towns with cute shops and lovely little restaurants. When I’m in the area, I will never consider staying anywhere but there. If you are looking for a pleasant surprise, book the Bevin House!

The house is simply magnificent. The attention to detail in the furnishings and decor is exceptional, with period antiques (some from the Bevin family) tastefully used throughout. There are several comfortable rooms for small gatherings, including a library with at least a 12-foot ceiling. The breakfast was wonderful, with homemade yogurt and fresh fruit, plus an interesting bun stuffed with ham, cheese, and egg, and sprinkled with sesame and poppy seeds. Dean and Jess, assisted by Amanda, are the ultimate hosts. We were there on a snowy night, and it was the perfect place to be snowed in. I would highly recommend a stay at the Bevin House. Truly unforgettable. We will go back for sure.

Best breakfasts we’ve had in awhile and the menu was different for each of the three days we stayed. Highly recommended for anyone who likes staying in Victorian era mansions. On a quiet street with a beautiful large garden to wander around in. Will definitely stay again if we are in the area. Thank you Amanda for your hospitality. Beautiful spot! Highly recommend! Dean, the owner, was very nice and extremely accommodating. The house is amazing, the history, the attention to details ….Very clean and very well maintained. Breakfast was delicious; with the home made maple syrup from their own maple trees that are on the property. The room was very nice and bed was very comfortable as well. My son and I stayed for one night at the beginning of our 6 days bicycle trip on the Air Line Trail, from East Hampton to Putnam CT and back. We are extremely thankful for Dean, he made our bicycle trip possible by allowing us to park our vehicle for the duration of our 6 days bicycle trip. Highly recommend this B&B!!

We had a delightful time at Bevin House! This beautiful mansion has been restored to a cozy warm retreat! The library even has a ladder to access its 1200 plus volumes! The goats were so sweet! The biggest treat of all were the gourmet breakfasts cooked by Chef Andrew! Both the owner and Andrew were attentive to our needs. I enjoyed having coffee on the porch overlooking the pool and grounds!! We stayed 3 nights and wish we would have stayed more!
