We stayed at Hotel Balnea for three nights in late August and it was a wonderful, relaxing experience. A great way to kick off our month-long Slovenian vacation! The hotel is modern and beautiful. The staff were friendly and helpful. Everything exceeded expectations. The hotel is definitely nicer than the pictures. We treated ourselves to a suite and were extremely pleased with the room and amenities. We got a reserved parking space adjacent to the reception area with our suite. Delicious bonbons were waiting for us in the room. View from our 4th floor room overlooking the park and pools was fantastic. We had floor to ceiling windows and a huge balcony. No insect pests in balcony area. The room was spacious and very comfortable. Loved the walk-in closet. We were provided thick spa robes and slippers. It was very quiet and peaceful environment. The common areas throughout the hotel are quite nice and attractive. We enjoyed spending time in the lounge/bar/courtyard area in the evening. We chose the breakfast and dinner plan, which worked out great. The restaurant is across the courtyard and you must briefly go outdoors to access it. The dining room was nice. There is always a large, well stocked buffet for each meal. For dinner, you can also order off of a menu. Breakfast each day was consistently fabulous. A wonderful selection of hot and cold foods, with an impressive beverage bar as well. Really nice fresh fruits and vegetables. Dinner was mostly good, with some inconsistencies. We had a few outstanding dishes for dinner. There is always a huge fresh salad bar for healthy choices. No matter what your preferences, the variety is great and you can always find something good to eat. There is also a good selection of sweets. Overall, the meals were a highlight. Dining room staff were very professional and efficient. The hotel is spotlessly clean all over and we definitely noticed. The spa/pool/locker room was amazingly clean and attractive, with nice touches such as multiple vanity/mirrors with blow dryers, etc. We really loved both the indoor and outdoor pools. Super nice. Although it was a busy weekend, there were plenty of lounge chairs inside and out. We were able to use the shaded cabana beds as guests of the Hotel Balnea. The water temperature was very comfortable. There are multiple whirlpool areas in the pools so plenty of people can enjoy them. The surrounding park and natural greenery helps create a relaxing environment. We didn't use the saunas or other spa services, so are unable to comment on them. There is a well-stocked Mercator grocery store about a kilometer down the road for anything you might need. We walked to it, although most people would probably be more comfortable driving. In the summer there is a small farmer's market on Saturday mornings in the adjacent hotel plaza. Overall, we had an amazing experience at Hotel Balnea and are looking forward to going back on our next visit to Slov

unfortunately I have to point out the great disappointment in the Balnea hotel restaurant. After a short Sunday visit to Dolenjske toplice (we were not accommodated in a hotel, we were external visitors, so we can only write a review of the restaurant), the atmosphere and friendliness of the restaurant staff invited us to a Sunday lunch at the restaurant of the Balnea Hotel. Everything was fine until the food came to the table. Oh what a disappointment, generic food to cry on. We ordered a Sunday lunch with Viennese steak and baked potatoes with some toppings on the menu. I can briefly describe our disappointment that the food was all wet to taste and inconspicuously prepared to look at. The meat was tough and the frying brown. Because we were hungry we ate the food. The next disappointment was the price. Food that was worse than the cheap menu in the student canteen was at least twice overpriced. I will not write specifically about the price and I will conclude that this is a restaurant with food for survival and nothing more than that. My advice - do stay away.

Pessima esperienza non lo consiglio a nessuno, bagni sporchi, jacuzzi non funzionanti, personale irrispettoso,abbiamo avuto una bruttissima esperienza dentro una spa dove una dipendente non riuscendo a dire costume in inglese toccava me e la mia compagna assiduamente e in modo invadente e brusco. Ci è stato promesso un rimborso completo per questo elenco di cose ma nulla da fare, una volta inoltrata la mail al sottoscritto Andrei il responsabile in reception che per l’appunto ci ha portato in ufficio scusandosi per i disagi, ha detto mandatemi una mail che vi rimborso il soggiorno; Ovviamente neanche segno del rimborso, anzi una presa in giro nella mail ci ha mandato un coupon del 10% per quando torniamo la prossima volta, e questa prossima volta ovviamente non ci sarà MAI, PERSONALE BUGIARDO CHE NON MANTENGONO LE PROMESSE DI RIMBORSO E SOPRATTUTTO COMPORTAMENTI DELLO STAFF GREZZI E MESCHINI! SCONSIGLIO A TUTTI SE NON VOLETE PASSARE UN BRUTTO SOGGIORNO, e questo messaggio per Andrei se leggerà, non prometta rimborsi se poi quando lo dovete dare fate finta di niente e prendete anche in giro mandando coupon per la prossima volta.
