관고 엘리펀트 로지

The lodge is located a few kilometers from the main entrance to Hwange National Park. Elephants and other animals come to drink in the pond just a few meters from the lodge. The service is remarkable and attentive. The food is varied, of good quality, and carefully prepared. The staff is very friendly, and it's pleasant to sit outside around a large fire in the evening. The rooms are spacious and well-appointed. Our stay at Gwango Lodge is one of our fondest memories of Zimbabwe.

We stayed three nights at Gwango in the tree top villas and we were blown away. When we arrived at the camp as it was going dusk we were met by a family of elephants ranging from large matriarchs to little babies who were drinking at the watering hole only metres in front of us. We saw many elephants walking freely around the camp including walking across the picture windows that fronted the baths in the villas. The villas were newly furbished and beautifully decorated. We were very well looked after by Avocado as front of house. Absolom the guide was extremely knowledgeable and we saw incredibly special sightings of lions with their cubs and painted dogs as well as many other animals. The food from the chef Sam was outstanding! Having lived in South Africa for 10 years before moving to the UK, we have gone to many game lodges and reserves, Gwango Elephant Lodge is among the very best for authenticity, service and sightings.
