OYO 인터내셔널 호텔(The Continental Hotel, Derby)

Terrible place to stay. No lift working had to haul gear up to 3rd floor. No electrical safety checks on equipment in rooms for 3 years. Fire extinguishers not in place. Fire escape routes blocked with items. Filth in fan, mould all ceiling in bathroom and rusty shower curtain pole, no riser rail to use a shower. The carpets don’t even fit. Do not stay here.

Comfortable and clean room, overall very good value for money with a discount in the restaurant (delicious eving meal there). On the downside the lifts weren't working and signage to the 3rd floor for my room was unclear. Check in advance if you have mobility issues. The shower in the ensuite had very low pressure and was either boiling hot or tepid - the regulator did not seem to work, so that would benefit from being looked at. Staff on arrival were friendly and helpful but the following morning I was not shown where the breakfast room was initially (hidden around a corner) and the Full English was clearly precooked and a bit dry. For simple value accommodation within walking disyof the town centre, I would recommend this hotel but even better if they can improve the breakfast customer experience a bit and mend the lifts and shower.

The hotel was in a great location to access the city centre by foot. It was clean and well maintained, with friendly staff. The rooms were of a decent size, on site car parking. The breakfast was prepared quickly and included in the cost, which overall was good value.

The hotel has recently been taken over and the restaurant has been renovated into an Indian restaurant which was very nice and the food was good, the photos on the website are all of the restaurant. The hotel is yet to be renovated, the rooms are basic. I was woken up in the night at 2.30am with either rowdy guests or staff laughing and shouting in the reception area which lasted until 3.30am, this is not the behaviour you expect in a good hotel. The breakfast buffet was non existent a cooked breakfast was offer with no choice and was very basic. I will not be returning.

Excellent hotel, staff very helpful and professional food in the restaurant was amazing, definitely stay here again when in Derby. The location is ideal for the City centre as well. Room was very quiet and clean , the bed was very comfortable as well.

Staff were absolutely amazing. So friendly and accommodating. The receptionist gave us another quilt. The hotel is having renovations done. The room we stayed in needs a new mattress so hopefully that will be done soon.

Will mot be using this hotel again. We had noisy people in the room next, night staff did NOTHING to help. We eventually managed to get 2 hours sleep before having to set off. I rung reception and went down to speak to them, but pointless. Was told they would make a note of the other people and ban them. I even wrote an email whilst waiting for them to be quiet, and 3 days later still haven't had a reply. On the positive side the rest of the staff are friendly and helpful. And the restaurant is well worth a visit.

Overall stay was good but overpriced for condition of rooms budget hotel at best... Rooms itself was big but it was not cleaned enough as we found dead insects around the room even in lamp shade and condition of furniture is very dated but hotel in decent location at least

Firstly the name international hotel was nowhere to be seen on arrival as it was called continental hotel!! Was not told that upon signing at the bottom of the check in sheet that any damages would be charged for which is ok if told about and if the room was faultless. On entering the room it was very clear that it was far from this. I took ten pictures of damages to report to reception that I did not want charging for and even after that found that the lights were loose on the wall and the bathroom sink tap was spinning loose. I asked why if they were charging for damage, why aren't they fixing the damage unless it's a money making scheme?? Then we came down to breakfast and was described as a buffet full English but was given a plate of scrambled egg, deep fried mushrooms, deep fried very cheap sausages, deep fried hash browns, and cheap cardboard bacon, I should know because I'm a chef. The rest of the breakfast offer was not great either. I would recommend anyone to stay here and have now decided to stick to well know chain hotels no matter how much more money I need to spend as saving money gives zero satisfaction.
