We just spent 3 nights at Es Moli. The best parts are what’s on the outside—the exterior grounds and the location, just a short walk from great restaurants in Deija. Unfortunately what’s on the inside of the hotel was disappointing. First, the facilities are dated and need some refreshing. During our stay the air wasn’t working in our room, and when we asked, the staff said that it was turned off for the entire building, no heat and no air condition. They suggested opening the door to the balcony to allow air in and out of the room. We did that, and the bugs appreciated the chance to visit us in our room. Second, the staff at the hotel is not at all customer service oriented. You receive curt answers to your questions with barely a smile. They certainly don’t go out of their way to ask how you are doing or to offer to help you plan your visit. That’s the opposite of most high-quality hotel experiences that we have had in various parts of the world. Our worst experience was having breakfast each morning. While the food was good, we did not feel welcomed by the staff. And when it’s time for the breakfast period to end, they make it very obvious that they want you to leave. The staff crashes around, starting 15 minutes before breakfast is over, trying to “unsubtly” let you know it is time to go so they can get on with their day. In fact while I was sipping my last bit of coffee, the staff came over and practically took my coffee cup. Totally unprofessional and not the way you want to be treated while relaxing on vacation. Needless to say we loved Deia, but likely won’t be back to Es Moli.
