The hotel was in a good position. Breakfast was make your own in your room, it would have been good if there was milk in the room available. The shower door and toilet needed a good clean it was filthy. The only towel in the room was a hand towel. I got up at approx 7:30 am, no one was around for me to ask for Milk or a Bath Towel.

We stayed in Room 6 which is at the top of the hotel. The room was good. There was a double bed,dressing table and side table. En suite bathroom with bath and shower. The room was quite, there's very little traffic in the area. They do provide breakfast which is left in the room in a fridge for you. Consists of bread for toasting, yogurt, cereal, juice and tea/coffee. This is a "do it yourself" meal but suited us. There is a fridge, kettle and toaster in a larder style cupboard in the room. The hotel is made up of 4 houses that have been made into one place. Therefore, the stairs go up in every direction and are narrow. The hotel could probably do with some redecorating but is clean and comfortable and a little bit quirky! If you arrive outside of the restaurant opening hours you need to phone (number is on the entrance) and they come and let you in. The owner is great. He chatted when we arrived and gave us a guide book on the town. He runs the restaurant and bar for the hotel. We didn't eat there but it was busy on the Saturday night.

Very friendly and helpful staff and Proprietor, could not do enough to make our visit an enjoyable experience . Hotel is perfectly situated only a 5 min walk into town , in a peaceful area. Hotel is quirky and unique , and the people you meet make it a very personal experience . We also had our evening meal in the hotel restaurant which again was super b, and highly recommended .

Wonderful stay in this lovley area of stamford, close to the train station het completely sound proof from the outside world, as well as being in a nice area. The room had a heater, the bathroom was spacious. Breakfast amenities were delightful to discover and the bed was firm and comfortable. The man who greeted me had fantastic conversation and made me feel safe and welcome throughout the time i was there despite being a nervous traveller. Highly recommend, 10/10.

Friendly reception and service. Convenient location for town centre facilities. One of few hotels in Stamford with parking facilities. Good value for money.

I feel bad leaving this review as the owner was so nice but the room i stayed in was cold, drafty, very out dated and grubby. The bed was so uncomfortable i woke up several times at night and i sleep like a log. Breakfast was in the room and was a nice touch. Like others have said the price reflects the quality so dont expect to much.

For what it cost it was adequate. It was a place to put my head down after a party. It could do with updating.

Very basic - could do with modernization!! Breakfast was taken in your room, toast and cereal prepared and served by yourself. Parking very limited. Shower facility totally inadequate with no hot water pressure - okay if a cold shower is what you wanted!!! Overall the building needs a great deal of attention - certainly will not recommend or use on the near future!!!

So very disappointing, I should have listened to the reviews. The bed was uncomfortable, the room was cold. There was an inch gap under the door so the light from the hall kept my room bright all night, very noisy so I barely got a wink of sleep. The bathroom really needs a makeover. The shower was cold and only trickled water from it due to poor water pressure, so tried to run a bath but it took forever so had to give up.
