Arrived without a booking, receptionist was lovely and made everything very simple. Towels are $5 and crockery is $10 (refundable). Went to cook dinner and realised quickly a lot of people call this place home. Dirty dishes everywhere and 0 free fridge or shelf space. Kitchen was also warmer than outside and everything needed cleaning again before use. Toilets and sinks were clean but the floors and showers were feral - not the cleaners fault they need to be refurbished (not just paint over mould). Toilets/showers also around 5 degrees warmer than outside. Taking a dump in 40c is grim. Pool was clean and again staff were friendly. I definitely wouldn’t stay here again, but I saved $100 a night and got to smell some things I’ll never forget in my 6 bed dorm.

The best hostel in Darwin by far, I absolutely loved my stay. Kayleigh in reception was welcoming helpful and an absolute great welsh gal. The rooms are very clean and there is a great atmosphere. I met great people here and you absolutely can’t fault the staff . The hostel has everything you need and you’re guaranteed to enjoy.

Terrible beds might as well have slept in a bean bag. Music playing loud as next to our room till 12am window wouldn’t close. Then had people making noise till 3am. Wouldn’t recommend unless you are planning to party every single night.

The goal of this hostel is to party hard: thumping music literally 7 days a week until 11pm at the earliest (seriously, i checked in on a Tuesday and the bass carried to every single room in the hostel). If you are 18 to 21 years old and that’s what you want, this hostel is great for it. For everything else, it is just NOT good. There is no common area other than the area right by the bar/music, so do not expect to be able to sit anywhere comfortable and read a book/watch a movie/calmly talk to anyone. Also, the place is filthy. Bathroom smelled like a barn, kitchen was pretty nasty by the evening each day, rooms were dirty and smelly. The shower doors had gaps so wide that I could make eye contact with people walking by hahahah. Also, NO RECYCLING BINS??? What the hell? Is this the 1970s? Unless I completely missed it somehow, I could not find a single recycling bin, so I had to throw away glass, tin cans, etc. The budget accommodation scene in Darwin is pretty grim, as I doubt the other hostels on Mitchell street are much quieter, and there really are no other options. The staff at MOM however were great, and did their best. Very helpful and accommodating.
