Hotel Himalayan Retreat

It’s not a 3-star hotel but rather a lodging service. Location is way too congested to travel to other parts of city. The ***ager Bikash is not a *** of his words. While checking in he confirmed that he would refund for one night out of 2 as the room he provided to us was not good but later refused to do so. We checked out of the hotel within few hrs of checking in due to this fake promise and pathetic makeshift rooms. They showed us 2 rooms one which was in the middle of construction debris on the terrace on 4th floor with no lift. Other room was behind the dining area in basement where I guess their janitor / housekeeping staff resides in non peak season. Worst part was the cheating nature of the front staff and ***ager. Not recommended at all!

Ok Hotel in Darjeeling.I think this hotel is used by every tour operator for Darjeeling. I would say neither good nor bad but typically the type of hotel when you come in a package.Rooms are decent but not great though and bathroom very small. Plus point Service is good Specially Suresh and Aleem. Please note that this is not 3* category hotel as stated by every travel agent but a decent budget hotel.

We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Himalayan Retreat. Location is absolutely perfect for easy access to Mall as it is very near to Bhanu bhawan and Mayfair hotel. The service provided by MD Khurshid was excellent. The hotel also arranged for sightseeing at nominal rates. Would recommend to come here and stay in Darjeeling.

A boutique hotel within walking distance of the Mall. Rooms are spacious and clean. Bathrooms could be better as the shower area does not have any curtains making the entire floor wet. Staff are just amazing - helpful and responsive to your needs. Ashish, in the restaurant was amazing amd provided excellent service.

We went there during the offseason 0f late October, I am going to point out the pros and cons Pros 1. 247 hot water 2. Spacious rooms 3. Clean linen 4. Good food at the restaurant 5. Helpful staff ( specially Ashish, you can give him any work and he will do it in a whim ) 6. Great ***ager Cons 1. Hotel located in low gradient, so to reach hotel you have to go down a hill 2. No view of kanchanjangha from hotel. Overall i can give it 4 out of 5 stars.

Very nice experience! Walking distance from the Darjeeling mall and all main attractions are near. Rooms are clean with cozy bed. Room service is good. Food quality is good. People are very helpfull in the reception. We would love to come back again.
