리젠시 파크 호텔(Regency Park Hotel)

This is a hotel in desperate need of renovation, but given the value for money, it is ok. Staff are friendly and helpful, breakfast is very basic. A typical cheap African hotel. I would have expected more from the pictures and description on *******.

I arrived early February visiting the University and their international officer recommended this hotel and that most academics stay here as it is closer to the University. This place is not maintained at all, it is very mouldy with bar fridges that are only a display. Showers are not working and forget about taking a hot shower as there is only cold water it doesn't matter which side you turn the tap lever. I've been fixing the toilet seat every time I need to use it, the shower does not drain properly. When you point out any challenges you are experiencing they look at you as if you are crazy - maybe is the language barrier I don't know. The bed sheet, night-frill, was broken and they did not change it until I left. The food! Dare if you may or if you are not scared of food poisoning. It does not look appetising at all; for breakfast you get leftovers from a day before. Nothing is available as indicated in the menu; two or three items are always unavailable and prices remain the same either way. And oh, they don't speak nor understand English. Forget about customer service; I doubt if they even know the meaning of that. WiFi! Bring your own WiFi router because the hotel one's is always unavailable. There is no DSTV here, only local channels and forget about following up on what is happening in the world; you will catch-up when you get back home. There is absolutely nothing that is functioning well here; the place is not even supposed to be operating under hospitality industry as they are clueless as to what that is. And oh, watch out for the cab drivers, they regard the patrons of this hotel as ATMs, the hotel is not bothered about arranging that for you. I guess the writing is on the wall. If you can, avoid the Regency Park Hotel at all costs. It does not even deserve a star. I had to go and spend more money for a better place as they refused to refund me.

The facility was terrible, starting from poor service. The rooms were not good, power outlets not working, a double room with utensils for a single person. The toilet was not maintained, the tiles were cracked and holding water witch was retained under the tiles. The room we got first was supposed to be a beach view but the balcony door was broken so we couldn’t use the balcony to see the beach. It’s expensive for no reason. Am sorry to say but this was the worst hotel stay I have had. Pricy with poor service

I stayed at the hotel for 13 night. Rooms are clean, but very poorly runned. TV has only 5 channels and no international news channel, such as BBC, CNN, or other ... just some sport channels and 1 or 2 local channels.. very very dissapointing.. The food is reasonable but.. my last night I ordered a pizza and the price doubled when they brought it. From 14.000 TZS to 32.000 TZS, inclusive 3.000 TZS room service, (Which I accept) but I do not accept a double of the price because the chef decided it. I send it back .. The staf is friendly and helpful but very young and limited in english .. and at the reception always on their telephone and / or eating. I am sorry but this is not a professional behaviour. The restaurant is like a "canteen" with tables with no atmosphere, They want you to eat quickly and leave even faster. Next time I am in Dar Es Salaam, I will chose another hotel, and will report this to the company i am working for.

I booked and paid for a suite and they gave me a standard room and couldn’t compensate me for the difference.
