Check-in was very smooth, and the room is warm and cosy. Thank you!

We stay here regularly and love it. Yes bedrooms need modernising but it wouldn't take much as everything is adequate, best thing would be walk in showers instead of over the bath, especially as many guests are elderly. We return again and again mainly due to the friendly staff who are all brilliant, so friendly and they make you so welcome. Reception, restaurant and bar staff all great. The food, good fresh food and good portions and always consistently super service. Bar prices very reasonable compared with other hotels in the area. We have stayed in many much more expensive hotels but just love coming back to the Patterdale. Great value and will hopefully be returning soon.

AVOID !!! i am not one to normally write such a bad review but we were really not happy with our stay here and i want to make others aware. Staff behind the bar and waiting on were really rude when we asked how did we order food, then when it arrived it was slammed on the table We then went up to the room which was infested with spiders and cobwebs all over the show including the bathroom - the television in the room was the size of a computer screen and it just felt dirty. my partner woke up in the night and we found another 50 spiders had entered the room and were crawling all over the location is great, but it definitely needs some TLC or at least someone to go round with a vac and actually clean the place Very disappointed for what we paid for a one night stay

Dropped in here with a bunch of friends after a lovely hike around the lake for a well earned drink. Initial bar service was ok, but with an undercurrent of not being welcome. One of my party wanted a pit of tea, and as we found a place to sit ourselves down she took some water with her to the table, having filled a small carafe at the bar to replenish the small glasses. Another barman came over with the tea, grabbed the carafe, and stated very bluntly that the carafe shouldn't be here, they're only for the dining room, grabbed it and walked off with a scowl. On leaving (we decided to stay just for one drink as a result) I mentioned it to the barman and was simply told "people steal them". No apology, just more scowls. First and last time visit.

In the middle of August to get dinner, bed and breakfast for two at a total of £213 for two nights has to be an absolute bargain. Lake view,ensuite clean room and food that is more than adequate. It's not the ritz but what do people expect for that price? Fabulous situation with walks direct from the hotel.

Having just stayed here for a few days, I must say I have never felt so welcomed. Lovely friendly staff from Reception to restaurant to bar staff. The restaurant food is awesome, no processed food here. This hotel has made our stay one of the best mid week breaks ever. Hotel entertainment was excellent. Will definitely be back!
